由於X'MAS黎緊, 今期MILK 雜誌, 出了一本以沙田新城市廣場為主題的HOLIDAY ROMANCE特刊, 搵左我寫一篇過千字的ARTICLE.
寫文對我唔難, 但最難係MILK要我交一段用英文寫的個人介紹PROFILE, 以下係我一向的中文個人簡介:
'身為補習天王，為人卻不天王。 除了工作上必要的華麗裝束外，骨子裡卻樂善好施、心軟眼淺，能在極銅臭的補習界打滾生存既屬異數、也有天佑。
感情路上多番經歷，傷盡女人心, 在40歲時後大徹大悟，一心一意只對老婆好。結婚前後，以'張欣欣'名字開FACEBOOK專頁記下兩公婆的生活點滴，中間穿插一些個人看法，未料成為香港市民不少心靈雞湯，在充滿負能量的都市中，提供些微貢獻。'
嘩, 呢段文, 要我譯做得體既英文, 真係攞我命三千!
其實......我都曾經試下譯架:
'I am a tutor king, but in fact i am not a tutor king......I have good clothes, but in fact i am kind. I like crying......'
譯唔夠幾句, 我都覺得必定貽笑大方, 失禮死人!
正感到好無助之際, 咁小事又唔想驚動老闆AMANDA, 突然諗起我地公司有位英文導師叫LEO CHEUNG.
我用WHATSAPP SEND咗以上呢段中文PROFILE俾佢, 只見螢幕上不斷出現 '輸入中' 3個字, 估計佢在彼端正忘我地翻譯打字......
3分鐘後, 佢即SEND來以下呢段譯文:
