These words are something that I hold so closely since I was younger, and it hits me harder when he talks to me about being humble 😯 We’re all born different, pursuing different dreams, leading a different life but we have the same goal, which is to be SUCCESSFUL in life and that definition of success differs too.

Irvine @irvineinatic_ , you are an amazing barista, someone that people idolize so much particularly in the coffee industry, but I don’t see you the same way. It’s just different and because of baristas like you, I felt much more assured that my decision to go on this coffee journey was right. I’m no longer just doing food exploration now, and everytime I learn something new which is coffee related, I felt a “weird but great” sense of achievement. Turning another year older, getting another year wiser 🙆🏻‍♀️ but I’m not old, not yetttt

I’ve recently been focusing a lot more on self-love, trying to create a better version of myself with endless self-development, gaining a lot more experience and knowledge in life. This year, life has been really crazy as I took a leap of faith. It was a huge decision to make, getting out of my comfort zone to try something completely new whilst I make plans for my future. Although I’m still struggling a lot, but everything seems like it’s coming into place already.

Juggling between identities has never been easy but because of that sense of achievement I’m getting and the knowledge I’m gaining from it, that kept me going. My circle of friends and the people around me has acompletely changed throughout the years too. I’ve also began to distant myself from the people I love, and those who used to be very important in my life, not because I’m depressed but I just wanted the best for myself and feeling alone doesn’t actually matter anymore. I’ve stopped trying, putting effort into strengthening the bond hoping that I’ll be well loved and appreciated in return but it has always been one sided effort where I actually go out of my way to help people and be extremely nice to them but in reality, it was just me bring too childish and innocent. So, pushing people away is just my way of protecting myself from being hurt and believe me it’s not easy.

Believe it or not, adulting is still taking a toll on me, but I’ve learnt to give myself some break, making room for changes when things go wrong. It’s been tough being a perfectionist but it somehow helps me to make sure to do things right. | #joeyyjt #joeyyjtxsony #21September #notetoself

TAIWAN 🇹🇼, 2019 ||
It’s been a great week in Taiwan, although the weather has been really wet and gloomy.
I’m glad I’ve gotten myself a pocket WiFi for this trip, which allows my family and I to have access to the internet concurrently.
