A man and his NAGGING wife were on holiday in Jerusalem, when the wife suddenly died.
The funeral company told the man that it would cost $45,000 to ship her home or $500 to bury her in Jerusalem.
The husband said, “Ship her home!!”
Shocked, the undertaker asked, “But sir, why don’t you bury her in the Holy Land and save the
money?”
To which the husband replied, “A long time ago, a man was buried here and *3 days later, he rose from the dead* … I can't take THAT RISK!”

To all of our Christian friends around the world, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I send you these greetings from Jerusalem. I'm standing in the courtyard of this magnificent International Christian Embassy. I'm so proud of our relations with our Christian brothers and sisters. I wonder for many of you if you remember the experience you had when you first visited Israel, when you saw the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or the Via Dolorosa or the Sea of Galilee or Nazareth. I'm sure it moved you deeply.

And it moves us deeply to have this bond with you because we all know that this land of Israel is the land of our common heritage. It changed the story of humanity, it changed civilization. What a magnificent heritage it is. Yet, we also know that it is under attack these days, that the forces of intolerance, of barbarism that attack all religions attack Christians with particular vehemence. We stand with you and I'm proud of the fact that in Israel, this is the one place in the Middle East that the Christian community not only survives but thrives and it's no accident. It’s because of our commitment to religious freedom; it's because of our embrace of our heritage; it's because of our embrace of our common future.

So please come to Israel. Come and visit me, I'm waiting for you. It will be a great experience for you.

Why is it the "Lake" of Fire?

“Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels...These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”” (Matthew‬ ‭25:41, 46‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Have you ever wondered why it’s called the “lake of fire” (in Greek: limnēn tou pyros) and not a “sea”, “ocean” or “river”?

A lake is defined as a body of water that is totally surrounded by land such that it is isolated from water bodies that can feed it or drain it.

A lake is a picture of stagnancy and separation.

After a person is cast into the lake of fire, there’s no way out. He won’t be flowing out of it. He will just be there burning forever, suffering “eternal punishment”.

The souls burning in the lake of fire will be eternally separated from God, willing to do anything to make the suffering stop, but that is impossible. Their fate is utter hopelessness.

The land surrounding the lake of fire is barren. Nothing grows there, for there is no life.

People question why a loving God can condemn people to such a fate. Some preachers try to ‘help’ God by saying that the suffering in the lake of fire is just temporary, or that sinner are burnt up and cease to exist. Some even twist it to say that the lake of fire is just figurative and not literal.

While trying to make sense of the lake of fire with their limited minds, they forget the part about God’s righteousness—that sin has to be punished.

Imagine a person repeatedly committing a lifetime of crimes against the King of Heaven and earth. Doesn’t that warrant a grievous punishment deserving of the crimes?

God already graciously provided a way out for people which He paved with His own suffering and shed blood. They only need to place their faith in Jesus as Lord and receive salvation freely as a gift.

If people reject that, then there’s no hope left for them.

God never designed man to sin. Man chose that on his own. God is the one always saving and reconciling as much as He righteously can.

Every day, the souls of people who aren’t saved are dying and descending into Hell.

Everyone should have many chances to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ while they are still alive. That is why we study God's word to find the beautiful revelations within and preach the Gospel as led and empowered by the Holy Spirit!

In contrast to the barren, stagnant and isolated lake of fire, born-again children of God will get to enjoy the river of water of life, and twelve different fruits from the trees of life planted in New Jerusalem.

“He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” (Revelation‬ ‭22:1-2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Our destiny is full of fruitfulness, vibrancy and close fellowship with God. In our path is fullness of life and there is no death.
