研究發現「鋼鐵人IRON MAN」🥊 幫你補鐵💪💪
🌱缺鐵別怕!中研院植微所施臥虎(Dr. Wolfgang Schmidt.)研究員的團隊,發現了一種小胜肽,就叫做「IRON MAN(IMA)」。
🌱IMA可幫助植物根部吸收外在環境中的鐵。此發現可望解決人們因攝鐵量不足所造成的缺鐵性貧血,已初步於番茄實驗中證實。研究成果於10月刊登於國際頂尖期刊《自然植物》(Nature Plants),並被選為重點論文。

Iron is an essential mineral nutrient which severely affects the growth, yield, and nutritional quality of plants if not supplied in sufficient quantities. However, how plants integrate the demand of different plant parts and regulate the amount of iron taken up by roots remains largely unknown.
A team led by Dr. Wolfgang Schmidt, a Research Fellow in the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology at Academia Sinica, has identified a new family of small peptides named IRON MAN (IMA) that regulate iron homeostasis by acting as phloem-mobile signals in flowering plants. Genes encoding IMA peptides are present in the genomes of all flowering plants but are missing in ferns, algae or fungi, suggesting that these genes emerged at an early stage in the evolution of land plants. Despite their ubiquitous presence, IMA peptides have not been recognized as a family due to their highly variable sizes and structures, and their corresponding genes have remained largely undocumented.

what a beautiful home you have built there, i started to think that you are much cleverer architects than human beings. when we cover the world with more and more buildings, concrete and cars everyday, you stand there gracefully, carefully absorbing in all the things we do, and find a way to integrate yourself into the manmade world.
on the other hand, we only know to remove you right away when you become a potential danger, technology has not made us smarter, it has not helped us to live better with nature, when faced with problems, some of us just choose to solve it with the quickest and easiest way instead of the most sustainable way.
many of us are very sorry, i heard many neighbours who were in tears reading the news, over night, people hung balloons on the remaining parts of you, let's hope these hopeful soul can stay strong in believing in what is right, and continue fighting for a better city, one that can accommodate diversity, and respects nature as well as opinions of its people.

不知道你們用了多少年時間,才在這老牆上建立起如此漂亮的家園呢?突然想,或者樹木比人類更懂得設計,更適合做建築師。當我們每天在開山掘地,建造新的大橋繞道,你依然靜靜地站在一旁觀看,然後找辦法跟人類的建設融合,例如用樹根抓着老牆,或者在石屎磚縫間找尋呼吸的間隙。
可是,當有些人發現你可能帶來危險時,卻只懂立刻把你移走,送往堆填區去。看來人類進步了,卻沒有令我們更加聰明(也不是智商問題,人類進步了,卻沒有令我們對世界及身邊的人和事更加憐憫)科技沒有使我們變得更有遠見,沒有改善我們跟大自然的相處方式。
在這個先進的社會,遇上問題時,本可以找尋不同方法去解決,有些人卻只選擇最簡單快捷的方法,而不是最可持續最好的方法。
聽見好多鄰居都不忍讀關於你們的新聞,昨夜以來,許多人在你們剩下的身軀上掛上彩色氣球。願這些人可以繼續守護他們相信的夢想,做對的事情,讓這個城市最終能夠成為一個尊重自然環境和市民意見的地方。
