📚好書分享《共感人完全自救手冊》📚
你是否也跟我一樣，是個不折不扣的「共感人」呢？用本書作者茱迪斯‧歐洛芙醫師的話來說，共感人就是能夠「身體真切感受到他人的情緒、能量與身體症狀，缺乏多數人具備的防衛機制」。
換句話說，可能你周圍的人的難過，就好像是你自己經歷的一樣難受；或許你看到他人經歷的天災人禍，就跟發生在自己身上一樣傷心；也許你看到其他生命受苦，就像自己也在受苦一樣折磨。
還記得以前剛畢業在美國史丹佛醫院擔任醫療口譯員的日子。只要看到家屬哭了，我就一定哭。這樣的情緒起伏不但影響到我的工作，也給病患、家屬、醫生都帶來不必要的困擾。到最後，我只好向主管申請再也不接癌症患者或急診室的翻譯，試圖遠離太過心碎的場景。
一直以來，我把心思過度敏感看作是一種詛咒。直到讀了這本書，我才知道其實「共感」是一種天賦，而我只需要學習怎麼一方面保持敏感，一方面又能保護自己。
雖然並不是書中所有的建議我都認同（尤其是飲食方面），但還是認為非常值得一讀。舉個例子，以前我只要參加人多的聚會，大概不到十分鐘就覺得無法負荷必須走人。照著書中的一些練習去做了之後，目前感到自己的負荷能力大大增進。
這個世界需要更多敏感的人用心去感受、勇敢說出我們的真實。保護好自己，我們才能走出去面對世界。

I still remember the days when I worked as a medical interpreter at Stanford Hospital. Whenever a distressed family member of the patient cried, I cried. I simply couldn't help it. It affected my work, and caused unnecessary hassle for the patient, their family, and the physician. I had to stop taking interpretation assignments for cancer patients just to avoid being emotionally overloaded.
All my life I thought being overly sensitive was a curse - until I read this book and realized that it's actually a gift. I just need to learn how to protect myself better. We need more sensitive people to feel the beauty and pain of this world and speak our truth. That's why I'm recommending this book, even though I don't fully agree with all the advice offered (especially on diet).
