Please believe me that I usually don't do name mentioning when I rant over bad experiences but today, I'm so frustrated. Everyone knows I was so stoked to go to London for the first time. It is my dream place and London didn't disappoint me. I had such a great trip and it didn't deserve a bad ending. We were choosing between MAS, Emirates, Turkish Airline and Etihad for our round trip. MAS offered the lowest price and they were direct flights but I don't know what we were thinking, I was skeptical at first but Jane wanted to try Etihad. Then, we thought that we should try Etihad, lol, as it is a reputable airline and the fare was the most expensive out of our choices. The worst thing is that we convinced another friend to fly with Etihad, with us for his trip back home. He initially chose MAS but man, that poor thing got stranded with us now. Another friend flew with MAS this morning, has already landed safe in KL, lucky, how lucky. So, we boarded the plane in London on time but we were stranded on the plane for an hour. When we reached Abu Dhabi, our flight back to KL left. Ahh, I don't even wanna continue typing, I'm so hungry. We had 55minutes between our connecting flights. Yeh, think about it now, it seems impossible. If it's a hard task, etihad shouldn't be offering flight like this. You save your hassle and I save my hassle. We are arranged for a flight 8 hours later, hotel is arranged too but that's not the point. Luggage isn't with me and I can't get it. I just hope when I reach KL, my luggage will be there. Please. I'm leaving to Japan for work soon and I don't have time for all this hassle. (Omg, just read other passengers' comments about luggages not arriving, I am so scared now, I need my luggage for my Japan trip, oh please, I pray to God.) I was supposed to reach KL at 3pm and the next morning, I'll have to go back to KLIA to send my sister off to Australia, she'll be gone for some time. Now I'll reach at 1030pm. Should I just sleep over at the airport? Lol. I don't know what time I'll reach home and settle down. I also had to cancel my ride home from the airport. My mum is worried and I don't like that unnecessary stress. So, yes, I'm hungry now. Etihad said they provide food. We went to the hotel lounge. There were only scramble eggs and pastries. We landed in Abu Dhabi at 2am, after everything it's 3am+ now, they said more food will only be served at 5am. Then, they said they can give us food vouchers to eat at terminal 3 but they said it's the same thing too because they serve food at 5am. Ya ya, whatever, now we are at mc Donald's, we have to pay for our own meal. Really should've flown with MAS, Emirates or any other airlines. I know sometimes this thing happens but how a reputable airline handles this, it's sad. The staffs have no smile on them. None. *mimicking his tone and voice* "if you have a complaint, please go to our website". ...... And to think about it, our flight from Abu Dhabi to London, we checked in so early and picked our seats but Jane and I were separated. I was being seated at the last row of the plane. I sat with a British man. He told me that Etihad lost his luggage for three days. He was in Vietnam without anything for three days. What Etihad offered him as "compensation" was to upgrade to business class at 50%. Good job, Etihad Airways. First and last. I pray to God I'll be home tomorrow night. Now, I'm going to have some food.

"When Kamarudin and I started AirAsia nearly 20 years ago, we had a dream of allowing everyone the opportunity to fly. Sadly, that opportunity has now been taken away from us for now.
It’s an uncertain time. Never could I have imagined it, no one could have predicted it and yet everyone has been touched by it. So I want to be open and transparent with you in this time of uncertainty.
There’s no denying that our industry has been hit hard, and we are no exception. This is possibly the biggest challenge we have ever had to face. We have no revenue coming in, 96% of our fleet is grounded and we still have significant ongoing financial commitments such as fuel suppliers and leasing agents.
We are doing everything possible to reduce costs during this time so we can come back fighting as fast as possible and continue to be the world’s best low cost carrier, enabling everyone the ability to fly with our great value and service.
We are one of the few airlines world over who has kept all of our staff on. AirAsia is a family and there are tens of thousands of Allstars who depend on the business for their livelihoods and the wellbeing of their own families. Kamarudin and I will not be taking a salary during this period and Allstars from across the business have accepted temporary pay reductions of anywhere between 15-75%, depending on seniority, to share the impact this is having on our business. I thank them for their sacrifice and in keeping the big picture in mind as we navigate this together.
In spite of all these challenges, I want to assure you that AirAsia is strong and remains firmly focused on the future and serving you, our guests. I also want to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of you for your loyalty to AirAsia and I hope that you and your loved ones are healthy and well throughout this trying time. I’m truly sorry that many of your travel plans have been affected. Like all airlines, AirAsia had no choice but to cancel a large number of flights due to government restrictions in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.
I know many of you have expressed frustration with not receiving a refund for your flights but I encourage you to accept a credit as a good alternative. More than 80 percent of you have accepted our credit offer and we truly appreciate this. Please know that our policy is in line with many operators in the travel industry and reflects our focus on coming out the other side of this difficult period and flying with you again as soon as possible. We have ensured that we adhere to all regulations and requirements of respective governments and consumer authorities and believe this is the best solution. You are among the over 600 million guests who have flown AirAsia and can’t wait to fly with you again once this is over.
While we strongly encourage you to accept the credit which is instant and comes with a 365-day validity and allows you to change your flight date for an unlimited number of times, we do accept requests for refund on a case by case basis. However, due to the overwhelming number of requests that we have received, it may take a long process of between 12 to 16 weeks.
I also want to acknowledge the comments I’ve seen about our virtual Allstar AVA. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and my team is making improvements to the system daily. Currently, our team and AVA are handling 10 times the normal volume of queries, which is now at about half a million guests on a daily basis.
We are working tirelessly, around the clock, to provide assistance to each and every one of you. We’ve mobilised additional support to our customer happiness team, including 1,800 Allstars from other functions, who have rolled up their sleeves and volunteered to help, so more live agents are available to assist you via our LiveChat, Facebook Messenger, Twitter & WeChat 24/7.
We’ve never had a time like this before and we are doing our best. We are not always perfect but we strive to do all we can for our people and our customers at all times. This is unprecedented but it is also temporary and we will be back, stronger than before, repainting the skies red and making sure everyone can fly again.
Until then…
Stay home. Be safe. And look to the future."
#InThisTogether
Lots of love,
Tony

I would like to thank all my English speaking friends and supporters in the US and world abroad for all the support of the past 6-7 years. It’s been a tough journey and I appreciate everyone who messaged me words of encouragement and congratulations.
As most of my audience are Chinese speaking, I apologize for not always posting in English. I’ll try to be better about that in the future. Below is a my short race recap of my 3:58:54 record breaking performance that went down back in Taiwan.
Nervous international fights, dismantled and reassembled my bike 3 times, 14 days of quarantine in un air conditioned heat chamber LOL (Taiwan is kind of hot), and my best 70.3 half Ironman race ever, here we are! Enjoy.. thanks again
Last year at Elsinore 70.3 in Denmark I underestimated the race courses’s difficulty, thinking for such a flat course I can easily break 4 hours. The bike leg didn’t go well, but running off the bike, I did some quick math and thought a 1:15 half marathon will be enough. During that time I still wasn’t very confident of my own endurance and was petrified of bonking halfway through the run. Nervous to push during the run, I held back until the last 5k. When I entered the finishing chute I saw the clock and it started with 4....I knew I had failed.
I was very regretful of my mentality and attitude for that race. Ever since then every single training run I do where I start to feel my legs go weak and felt the same fear at Elsinore 70.3, I would stay calm, endure the pain, and keep moving forward at the limit.
After more than a year, I took the risky flight from pandemic hard hit California to my home country Taiwan and then quarantined for 14 days. Thankfully I made it to start line for Ironman Taiwan 70.3 safe and healthy. I told myself at that moment, do not waste this opportunity.
I knew I couldn’t keep up with Sam during the swim, but I was quietly confident in my form, after a whole year of band work and technique help from my wife, I didn’t get any jello arms through the swim and was able to push full gas.
After I got to the shore, I got on my trusty Giant trinity (the dragon that changes color) and started my most confident sport of cycling, chasing after Sam. The first lap my old injury in my left hip came back to haunt me so I stayed conservative, though still able to average 42 kph. Second lap my left hip warmed up and the pain went away so I went full gas, enjoying the nice rolling course averaging 45-50kph on the 11 highway along the coast. I passed by many other competitors who cheered me on giving me a lot of energy.
Getting off the bike, I felt really good and started off averaging 3:30/km. I thought to myself a 1:15 half marathon is definitely doable. As I passed Sam at 4km mark my pace kept dropping and heart rate kept climbing. All of a sudden the clouds went away and the sun came out to play. I thought crap, this is bad. Every aid station I would grab two cups to drink and two cups to pour on myself, not wanting to slow down to waste anymore time. Every kilometer my pace would drop by a second and by halfway I did the math and realized breaking 4 was not going to happen. I started to feel very depressed and wanting to cry. I thought about How I spent the whole year training for this one race, left my family and my wife at home for a whole month, quarantined for 2 weeks, what the hell am I doing? I snapped out of that and slapped myself mentally and said if I’m not going to break 4 hours today I’m going to at least run until I got nothing left to give myself some closure. I wanted to finish the race not breaking four hours knowing I did my very best and didn’t have it, and not because I was scared. I had blisters underneath my thumb toe nail and it was extremely painful but I carried on. I slogged
Through the last 10km and found myself back in the finishing area. A friend yelled you still have two minutes til 4 hours! I still had hope and accelerated like crazy. I crossed the finish line and couldn’t believe my eyes... 3:58:54
This is my most satisfying race ever. I realized you really can’t let off until the finish line, because anything can happen. This race was very special since I basically time trialed alone from start to finish. To break 4 hours, the Taiwanese nations record for 70.3, and to share the race course with Sam, the pro athlete that inspired me to chase my dream , I couldn’t be more grateful.

Lyrics:
Traveling places I ain't seen you in ages
But I hope you come back to me
My mind's running wild with you faraway
I still think of you a hundred times a day
I still think of you too if only you knew
When I'm feeling a bit down and I wanna pull through
I look over your photograph
And I think how much I miss you, I miss you
I wish I knew where I was 'cause I don't have a clue
I just need to work out some way of getting me to you
'Cause I will never find a love like ours out here
In a million years, a million years
My location unknown tryna find a way back home to you again
I gotta get back to you gotta gotta get back to you
My location unknown tryna find a way back home to you again
I gotta get back to you gotta gotta get back to you
I just need to know that you're safe, given that I'm miles away
On the first flight back to your side
I don't care how long it takes, I know you'll be worth the wait
On the first flight back to your side
Travelling places I ain't seen you in ages
But I hope you come back to me
My mind's running wild with you faraway
I still think of you a hundred times a day
I still think of you too if only you knew
I just need to work out some way of getting me to you
'Cause I will never find a love like ours out here
In a million years, a million years
My location unknown tryna find a way back home to you again
I gotta get back to you gotta gotta get back to you
My location unknown tryna find a way back home to you again
I gotta get back to you gotta gotta get back to you
I just need to know that you're safe, given that I'm miles away
On the first flight back to your side
I don't care how long it takes, I know you'll be worth the wait
On the first flight back to your side
I don't want to be wasting time without you
Don't want to throw away my life I need you
Something tells me we'll be alright
Something tells me we'll be alright, alright
I don't want to be wasting time without you
Don't wanna throw away my life I need you
Something tells me we'll be alright
But something tells me we'll be alright alright
My location unknown tryna find a way back home to you again
I gotta get back to you gotta gotta get back to you
My location unknown tryna find a way back home to you again
I gotta get back to you gotta gotta get back to you
I just need to know that you're safe, given that I'm miles away
On the first flight back to your side
I don't care how long it takes, I know you'll be worth the wait
On the first flight back to your side
I wish I'd known, my location unknown
My location unknown, my location unknown, unknown
