I met Quan two years ago by chance at Hoi An's Cua Dai Beach. At first I thought he was angry at me for not parking right or something, but as soon as I spoke English to Ngoc, he immediately started smiling and showing us his songs. I recorded the clip, but didn't think much of it besides how unique that was. Plus, he was singing one of my favorite Quang Le songs as well. The video was uploaded onto my channel shortly after being filmed. In Alhambra, California, Banh Mi My Tho played my videos on their screens. Dan Eckman, a director was about to go to Vietnam to film an episode of Song Voyage, which is a Gregory Brothers backed musical comedy travel show. While getting his banh mi on, Dan saw my videos and thanks to Banh Mi My Tho who hyped me up, Dan later checked my channel out and saw Quan's video. The show was looking for a third musical talent after already finding Kimmese and Suboi. Quan was the man. He was flown to Saigon and experienced the city for the first time. It was also his first time flying and staying in a hotel. He was also paid handsomely for a few days worth of work and got to perform at the Acoustic Bar. The rest.. well... the rest is history. Special thanks to the Banh Mi My Tho, The Gregory Brothers, and Dan Eckman.
