Today, I ran for about half an hour then decided to head to Midvalley for brunch! To you, I may look tired but to me, this is what pure joy looks like.
My Grab driver was pak cik Mokhranim. I was his first passenger today after a long time although he had been registered as a grab driver for about a year. Why am I his first? Unfamiliarity with the usage of Google Maps or Waze has always kept him from trying. Let's just say, he was a little fearful. Then I asked,
"Pak Cik, kenapa pilih untuk pandu Grab?" to which he gracefully answered,
"sebab saya duduk rumah tengok TV je and after a while TV tengok saya (he giggles)"
because he would fall asleep on the couch watching TV. 😂
We spoke for about 45 minutes while taking the wrong routes a couple of times. But what was so beautiful was the fact that instead of being stressed over it, he was absolutely calm and composed. You know, like a baby trying to explore something new. I completely overlooked the fact that instead of 20 minutes, it took me 45 minutes to get there. But was it worth every minute? Definitely YES! I would never be able to LEARN what I heard from him today in any casual conversations.
You see, many of us sit in our comfort zones waiting for a miracle to happen. Often times when we undergo hardships, we think more than we act. And sometimes, it is the habit of assuming everything will be okay soon, that gets us into deeper turbulences. This pak cik taught me that no matter how old you are, it is NEVER too late to TRY AGAIN. No matter how unfamiliar you are with life and its ways, it is NEVER too late to EXPLORE. Most importantly, no matter how much we have grown, we will always have that CHILD-like curiousity within us that reminds us it is OKAY to fall because it is only through falling, will we be able to walk and eventually run freely.
I am extremely grateful for this experience and I cannot wait to make one of the biggest changes in my life soon. I will be revamping this account to do what my soul loves and enjoys doing most. Healing. I love you all so much and I wish you an amazing weekend! 💕
