在湖邊露營是我喜歡的野營方式，全台灣我最喜歡露營的地方是~嘉義大埔鄉湖濱公園的草地上。湖邊水位已經滿了60％左右，這是一個完美的水位，可將車輛行駛至水邊，來個浪漫的湖邊野餐趣。
我喜歡在這裡露營的另一個原因，是可以把我的帳篷留宿這幾天，在我離開去探險的時候，作為我的家庭基地。它就在大埔村裡面，所以很容易買到食物和日用品，湖濱公園的主要露營區有30多個寬敞的木棧板可搭帳，有免費的冷水淋浴室和乾淨的公廁。如果天氣不佳，看起來像要下大雨，那麼就回到主露營區，因為湖邊水位可能會上升。
這次VOLVO給我帶來了他們的V90 Cross Country AWD，它同時兼具了房車的舒適性與駕駛穩定性，但又擁有可媲美越野車的 Off-road行駛特性，輕鬆載我們和所有露營用品一路貼近到湖邊，也讓這一趟旅程在過程上有不一樣的感受。在大埔村的南側，有個指定的捕魚區，一條混凝土路可以帶您到達湖邊水域，在翠綠草原的盡頭，是放鬆和享受景色最美麗的地方；因為地形較為崎嶇，越野車款可以全程行駛，但一般車輛應停放在水泥路上再步行到達。V90 Cross Country 提升了離地高度，搭配AWD四輪驅動，很輕鬆的將我們帶領到湖邊區域，1,560L的大行李箱容量，也讓我們把這次的「家」，移到貼近最靠近自然的區域。
嘉義是全台灣的瀑布最密集的地方，有瀑布之鄉稱呼。在大埔鄉附近可以看到許多令人驚嘆的瀑布。即使我已經來過這裡幾十次了，但仍然無法探索完全部的瀑布。這些訊息包括需要溯溪，健行或駕車直達的瀑布，請點閱我的部落格地圖和網站，可以獲得更多的相關資訊。

Hands down, my favorite place to camp in Taiwan is in the grass at Hubin Park, in Chiayi, Dapu. The water, the air, the eagles flying around; everything comes together to make this lake one of the best places to be in the summer. I make a special point to spend a few days camping here every year, and this year, we are extraordinarily lucky. Right now the lake is around 60% full, which is the perfect level to drive right out to the water's edge, and have a picnic.
At the south side of Dapu Village, in the designated fishing area, a concrete road goes most of the way to the water. The most beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the view though, is at very tip of the grassland. Off road vehicles can make it the whole way.
This time I drove the new Volvo V90CC. It's higher up off the ground and very comfortable and stable offload. We easily made it to the edge of the lake. It's got a luggage capacity of 1560L, which is more than enough to haul all of my glamping gear into the wilderness, to camp in style and comfort.
Another reason I like camping here because I can just leave my tent standing for a few days and use it as a home base while I go adventuring. It’s right next to Dapu village so it’s easy to buy food and supply, there are also free bathrooms and showers in the park.
From here there are so many amazing waterfalls to visit. I’ve been here a dozen times and still not visited them all. These range from exhausting river treks, to easily reachable waterfalls.. Check my maps and website for more information about the places nearby.
