PS back in my singing days in 2006-2007. I was being challenged to shave off my hair for a lead role as a nun (饰演尼姑仪琳) for a musical, The Smiling, Proud Wanderer 《笑傲江湖》a wuxia novel by Jin Yong (金庸 Louis Cha) performed in Hong Kong and Shanghai. I grabbed the golden opportunity with lots of encouragement from my sister Wong Race who was cast as the second lead.
During the shaving ‘ceremony’, my parents flew in from Singapore to give me support. My Papa had the honour 😜 to have the first cut of my hair that was tied up in a ponytail. And I took over after. My sis Race, my better half then knew how much I love my long hair and yet I sacrifice it to pursue my artistic passion. My family shared my vulnerable moment and was moved to tears. Such love and support is unconditional with great #empowerment
