多個交友程式盡其努力，向用戶傳遞防疫資訊。Hinge 分別在 Instagram 及 Twitter 發帖，形容「洗手很性感（hot）」，又提醒在偷吃約會對象的薯條之前，記得先洗手。Tinder 則向用戶發放公益訊息，強調防止感染武肺比約會重要，包括避免摸臉。至於嘴唇等其他部位？Tinder 倒沒提及。

現實生活中，Menge 正與兩名（現時）身體健康的男士約會，她與朋友們卻忍不住想：「我應否更加小心？應否停止跟在酒吧結識的人出去？」至今眾人未有決心改變，Menge 更假設：「反正無論如何都會『中招』。」但矛盾的是，她認為疫症確是一個良好指標，看對方是否留意新聞。
Match 首席約會教練 Rachel DeAlto 認為，是次疫症其實是個機會，讓人更慎重擇偶。他建議約會前先用 FaceTime 或 Skype 見面，了解對方是否值得自己出門。約會教練 Francesca Hogi 未見有客人過分憂慮，但若感不安，不妨在約會前先發個訊息：「真的很期待跟你見面，但到時就不用握手啦。」
一些人倒非害怕感染而拒絕赴約，只因（聲稱）工作比平時更忙。真人騷 Bachelorette 前參賽者 Michael Garofola 在名人交友程式 Raya 結識一名女性，1 個月來持續約定初次見面的日子。對方一直以公事為由改期，但他未有氣餒：「我能做的就是繼續每天洗手等她回應，而非對她『金盆洗手』。」
