Because of that, he was *astonished by *numerous culture shocks while studying in America.
1: Foreign students often experience culture shock when they first come to the U.S.
例2: Callum, recently arrived in Glasgow, is jobless, homeless, friendless, and suffering from culture shock.
例3: They often encountered difficult culture shock while studying in Paris.
看完三句例句,應當記得: experience culture shock, suffer from culture shock, encounter culture shock 此三種用法。
By doing so, students may be able to *gain their likelihood of getting jobs after graduation.
---請用: increase/enhance/improve the likelihood of…
After that, two recessions *happened in Germany…
若有經常看商業性文章的學生一定知道,經濟不景氣在英文裡不會“發生”; 當將其看成 「狀態」時, 是國家 (Germany, in this case)的狀態; 所以依句意不同,請用 國家 face / experience / enter / suffer (from) / prevent / survive;
(When recession hit just a few months later in 1989, they went under.)
recession (n.)
culture shock (n.)
likelihood (n.) 可能性
