So I was planning my guest list for my little birthday gathering, and realised something quite sad.
My circle of true friends is getting smaller as I grow up. :(
I suppose as we grow up, we get busier and we have limited time. So we can only afford to spend with peple who really, truly matter. And I notice I've been getting very selective in surrounding myself with positive people. I'm learning how damaging it can be, when you're surrounded by negative people, who are not on the same train of thought as you are.
But the (scary) thing is, I'm really not sorry. I'm not sorry my circle is small. I'm not sorry I don't waste energy on unnecessary drama. I feel I've come a long way, to be able to say that. Because years ago, I would be so bothered about what everyone thought of me.
I guess it's a little bitter sweet. Now I really understand what my parents were saying when they said "quality over quantity fo friends". A few good, honest, supportive friends is really all you need. And I am beyond blessed to have them :) <3
