‘WILSON SHIEH … SUMBODY’ BOOK LAUNCH | AN OSAGE GALLERY PUBLICATION
Osage Gallery will be hosting a relaxing event this Saturday 16th November to celebrate the launch of Wilson Shieh’s monograph ‘Wilson Shieh … Sumbody’ at the Fringe Club. Contributors of essays include David Clarke (Professor, Fine Arts Department, HKU) Olivier Krischer (post-doctoral fellow, the Australian Centre on China in the World, The Australian National University), Isabel Ching (curator and art writer) and Wilson Shieh, artist.
Guests and audiences will be able to enjoy three chamber pieces by The Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, commissioned by the Ensemble itself earlier this year in tribute to Wilson Shieh and inspired by the series “The Cultural Life of Wilson Shieh” by Wilson Shieh.
The event will include conversations with the artist, co-editor Isabel Ching and composer Joyce Tang and William Lane, Artistic Director of The Hong Kong New Music Ensemble. The conversations will touch on and explore how visual art has inspired the different disciplines such as in this case, composers and music performers.
