[TAIPEI - 千壽 😋]
上次来千壽吃簡午餐不夠45分鐘便吃完離開。這次約了酒友們午餐,特別提前三週已跟料理長安排加碼。除了沒有壽司以外,其他菜式的質和量比晚餐有過之而無不及。
料理長的菜式屬於專統會席料理,沒有太大創新風格。食品的呈現也十分精緻。整個用餐過程接近四小時,每一道都很精彩。
若從懷石,會席料理或割烹的餐廳來說,這𥚃絕對是在台北甚至全台灣的數一數二。期待有機會再去吃它的壽司再向大家報告。
The last time I had lunch here although it was good, I finished the three course light lunch within 45mins. As the lunch this time is with a group of wine buddies and will consume a number of bottles, we have arranged with the head chef three weeks in advance trying to beef up the menu. At the end, other than not being able to serve sushi, the quality and quantity of the menu was as much and as good as the evening course if not more.
Head chef style of cuisine is of traditional kaiseki without too innovative, and food presentation is quite refine. Throughout the close to 4 hour meal, every course is divine.
If looking at kaiseki, ryori or Kappou style of Japanese cuisine perspective, this restaurant for sure is one of the best in Taipei or even Taiwan.
Look forward to revisit to try out their sushi and give my further comment.

大閘蟹進食小貼士
大閘蟹今年於十月中上市,蟹癡又能一嚐等待了一年的滋味!大家都認定大閘蟹是邪惡之物,屬性寒涼,也是發物而蟹膏則高脂高膽固醇;發物即容易引起舊患復發、將新病加重的食物,過敏體質容易引發痕癢。其實大閘蟹並非一無是處,配合個人體質食用,它有清熱、散瘀血、通經絡的功效,進食前要注意身體狀況。
貼士一:宜配搭清淡菜式
大閘蟹寒涼,不宜多吃,每次食用一隻起兩隻止為宜,餐廳流行推出大閘蟹套餐,除了蒸大閘蟹外,還配搭蟹粉小籠包、蟹粉撈麵等,進食過量會導致腹瀉等腸胃不適症狀。品嚐大閘蟹時,建議配搭健脾胃的白飯以及清淡的蔬菜。進食大閘蟹當日亦應避免進食刺身、沙律、雪糕等生冷食物,以免雪上加霜。
貼士二:最佳配搭黃酒、紫蘇葉、薑
有說吃大閘蟹時宜配黃酒以驅寒暖胃,進食時蘸點加入薑絲的醋,也可帶備紫蘇葉配薑茶及紅糖,醋及紫蘇葉都有解蟹毒的功效,有助紓緩進食蟹之後出現的腹瀉症狀。
紫蘇生薑紅糖茶
功效:暖胃驅寒鎮吐,體質偏熱不宜。
材料:紫蘇葉9克、生薑5-6片、紅糖適量
做法:洗淨材料,紫蘇葉及生薑以約800毫升水煲煮30分鐘至出味,再加入適當紅糖調味即可。
貼士三:七類人士不宜吃蟹
1. 體質虛寒、手腳冰冷者
2. 脾胃虛寒、容易腹瀉及胃脹人士
3. 孕婦、坐月及月經中的婦女
4. 膽固醇高和有心血管病的人
5. 痛風症患者
6. 體質/皮膚過敏者
7. 感冒患者
Tips for eating hairy crabs
Hairy Crab has been available since mid-October, and crab lovers have waited a full year to taste it again! Most people think hairy crabs are bad as it is cool in nature and the crab roe is high in fat and cholesterol. A stimulating food can cause old symptoms to re-appear and worsen existing conditions. Those prone to allergies may flare up. Hairy crab, in reality, has its benefits, it can clear heat, dispel blood stasis, open up meridian. You just have to pay attention to your body type before consumption.
First tip: have it with a light meal
Hairy crab is cool in nature and it is not suitable to have too much, so you should limit to 1-2 crabs each time. A lot of restaurants are promoting all-crab meal, and aside from the actual steamed crab, the meal includes crab dumplings, and crab noodles. Having so much crab may lead to abdominal discomfort. When you are having crab, we suggest combining with dishes that strengthen the spleen and stomach such as white rice and vegetables. You should also avoid having sushi, salad, ice cream etc on the same day.
Second tip: Best coupled with yellow wine, basil and ginger
Some say pairing hairy crab with yellow wine can dispel cold and warm the stomach, and have the crab with vinegar and ginger. It is also good to have ginger tea with basil and brown sugar. Vinegar and basil can detoxify toxins from crab, and alleviate diarrhea associated with crab eating.
Ginger tea with basil and brown sugar
Preparation: rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Boil basil and ginger with 800ml of water for 30 minutes. Add in brown sugar.
Third tip: 7 types of people who cannot have crab
1. Asthenic cold body type, with cold limb
2. Asthenic cold spleen and stomach, prone to diarrhea and abdominal bloating
3. Pregnant ladies, those in confinement month, and during menstruation.
4. Those with high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease
5. Those suffering from gout
6. Those prone to skin allergies and with body type prone to allergies
7. Those with cold/flu

Not the best angle, but one of my most exotic food experiences! I knew that Japanese pretty much eat everything, such as raw pig's liver. As I've mentioned in the post 2 days ago (check out the o-toro photo if you missed the story!), I love all sorts of raw fish, and can pretty much identify most of them. However, when we were in a sushi yatai in Okinawa, there was a type of sashimi in the display drawer that we had no clue what it was until few minutes later, my mom spoke up and said, "it's whale" (she had seen and eaten it when she was a kid). None of us believed it, so we asked the chef, and yes. It is whale!!! Of course we had to try it. The color was a bit lighter than the wine color, but darker than bloody red. There was no need to dip into the soy sauce. Had it in one bite. Then I soon reached the food heaven 😇 So good!!!! It looked quite fibrous and muscular, but it wasn't at all! Very tender, and soft, with a bit of fat....🤤 My brother thought it tasted very close to raw beef! I've never had beef, so can't comment on that. Would strongly suggest you to try it if you see it!
