If you don't already know, they're calling this month #AsianAugust because there are a bunch of Asian-American-led films and shows dropping in theaters and on Netflix that is spurring a movement in the industry that is showing execs that green-lighting projects with POC also means Asian-Americans, the oft-left out community when it comes to conversations about equality and diversity.
You may be Crazy Riched Out from all the buzz last week, but take a deep breath as we dive back in for more! This weekend, the Sundance award winning thriller "Searching" starring John Cho and his Asian-American family, opens in LA / NY / SF and again, needs the community to get turnt and show its support that films led by a Cho, Wu, Yang, Ohtani, Nitikoontanond, Nguyen or Kim CAN put butts in seats.
