車上女子自稱Lucy，車上怪異的感覺漸見端倪，在Jake鄉下兩老及大屋的情況更營怪誕，謎團未有解決之餘漸漸往荒誕方向演變。而《 I'm Thinking of Ending Things 》 中 Lucy一直重複的想法 「結束一切」要結束的並不是Lucy與Jake的關係，而是.....
電影集合驚慄、詭異及一點點黑色幽默的元素。像是經歷一段怪異的旅程，但又無法得到一個所以然來。電影顛覆觀眾閱讀電影的模式，一段段古怪的情節看以不連實卻又是導演精心安排的暗示，讓觀眾不得不接受最終指向的悲哀事實。
