I’ve been so fortunate to be best friends with girlfriends who also strongly believe in feminism and equality in terms of opportunities, pay, freedom, etc. Over the years I’ve championed the brand ‘Girlfriends’, I really want us girls to realise the double standard that we impose on ourselves whether we realise it or not.
To my girlfriends, who are in terribly abusive marriages, relationships, may you find the tenacity and courage to walk away from it and get help. Get help for your kids, for yourself.
As the days go by we age,
Don’t let them put you in a cage .
If they don’t let you fly,
Maybe it’s time to say goodbye.
