Recent review on my tours: Was such an incredible experience I became hooked and am returning again later this month. M13's tour is honestly the only way I would want to experience Taiwan. Great tour guide, great teacher, and just an overall awesome person.
Having never traveled outside of North America before I was beyond nervous about having 18ish hours of flying with layovers and doing something as intense as a 2 week scooter tour around Taiwan especially with zero riding experience on 2 wheels under my belt. If you're like me you shouldn't let it stop you from coming. M13 took me aside and spent time with me personally to teach/help me get the hang of riding. Ended the trip with 0 crashes and never felt worried.
Nightlife: The clubs are pretty decent in my experience. Not the best but not terrible by any means. The nightlife walking around the towns is something you've got to experience. Entire streets fill with small portable stands with the smell of all kinds of food hitting you from every direction, beer, games, and tons of things to buy while hundreds of locals and other tourists are all around having a good time. Nighttime was always my favorite time, just getting to walk around the cities while soaking everything in made the trip for me. Being able to walk around talk to random people while enjoying the company of the people in your tour group while sipping on a beer or two leads to very enjoyable nights.
Value: Easily worth the expense. The hotels/hostels you stay at are all amazing and either near/on the ocean or in a great part of town where it's easy to find anything you would want to do. Food wise I was the only tour member who couldn't personally stomach the food in Taiwan(Bless you Cheetos and McDonalds for keeping me full and alive. haha) everyone else in my group and no issues with the food and couldn't help but love anywhere we went to eat. 3 meals a day was always covered as well for everyone. I was able to go scuba diving as well having never done that before and that was pretty dang cool. The only extra expenses you should worry about are alcohol purchases and any knick knacks you want to take home as those aren't covered.
I know 0 mandarin but found as a general rule of thumb every younger person under 30 I talked to in Taiwan had a grasp of basic English so I never had difficulties ordering/paying for things at stores and what have you.
I would recommend this trip a million times over. If you have the money and time just go for it. I held it off for a couple years and regret not experiencing the trip and Taiwan sooner. The strangers you experience this journey with end up leaving as friends.

I started bringing up my tours on Taiwan forums. Even approached a couple of people who enjoy riding. Or who were only in Taiwan for a short time. Their responses are always so illogical.
"Oh, I like to explore alone." Well....you can explore alone the other 364 days this year. And have the best ride of your life on the 1 other day.
(from someone just visiting Taiwan) "Oh, my boyfriend has been here before. He'll show me around." Yeah, I'm sure your boyfriend will show you a better time than a professional tour guide who has spent the last 9 years perfecting his trade (I wanted to give them both a tour).
I understand wanting to explore by yourself.....I do it all the time. But when some locals...are going somewhere I haven't been before...I LOVE going with them. Letting them lead the way. Seeing new things...etc. And THAT doesn't even compare to what I offer. Because the locals I ride with usually just take a direct route to a couple of cool things. While I put a lot of thought into each and every road....ignoring the GPS or Google maps...to make each minute of the ride better.
For example. You could google "Cool things in Taoyuan" or check trip advisor. And visit a few of them. But traveling from one to another would take you on main roads with traffic..etc. Not only do I know the best things to visit. I know the best alternative roads to take from one to another. Avoiding traffic and finding cool things on the backroads that AREN'T on the internet.
One of the best things I show to people is a RETIRED QiGong Master who can work miracles. Visiting that one guy alone is worth MORE than the price I charge for 10 hours of my time. Sigh.
