Primary School students started their first session of Home-Based Learning (HBL) today. The Secondary School and JC students will be having their turns tomorrow and on Friday, respectively. We are trialing this progressively so that students, teachers, and parents can familiarise themselves with the system, and we can sort out any teething problems.
I am sure parents and students will have many questions on HBL, especially after the first day. The Ministry of Education, Singapore is holding an AMA (Ask Me Anything) tonight at 8pm on their FB Page. Do log on and join the discussion.
I hope parents will continue to talk to your kids about COVID-19, and what we are doing to protect ourselves. Like adults, some kids may be feeling anxious and bewildered because of the strict measures we’ve taken. But we can help them understand that they too can do something to help themselves, and their families and friends. Singapore has to fight this coronavirus together. – LHL

Practice social distancing and take action to prevent local transmission of the coronavirus disease COVID-19.
Now more than ever, we have a chance to achieve something together. Let’s protect our precious healthcare resources!
Please exercise extra caution when driving. Any major traffic accident requires the deployment of medical resources. In particular, serious road traffic injuries demand the attention of already stretched health-care workers.
This is why it is important for you to refrain from driving under the influence. And remember the recommended units are there for a reason!
Also, the catering industry and consumers alike ought to remain vigilant about food safety. Unsanitary handling practices can lead to foodborne illness - another unnecessary strain on our healthcare system.
Everyone should continue to look after their physical health. Please follow your doctor’s advice if you have any medical problems. If you have any chronic disease, remain proactive about monitoring your blood sugar levels and blood pressure. During this global public health crisis, the condition of many individuals worsens due to inadequate medical resources.
Additionally, do not believe rumours and misinformation spread through various channels. Central government authorities, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Center for Disease Control, will provide regular briefings with the latest information and new policies. In Taipei, Deputy Mayor Vivian Huang and Commissioner of the Department of Health Shier-Chieg Huang will also offer timely updates.
The small things that you can do to protect yourself and others include physical exercise, washing your hands, brushing your teething, and wearing a face mask. As the public health system starts feeling a strain on resources, we all need to take good care of ourselves.
Let’s practice social distancing, enjoy the outdoors, and keep our chins up!
Everyone is responsible for looking after themselves. This is our responsibility to protect the precious resources of our healthcare system.
In these challenging times, our internal disagreements should not overshadow what truly matters.

Why is the MB saying NO to GST, water deals and highways?
I understand there are teething problems with GST - I personally feel it was implemented a wee bit too fast. You need to ensure the personnel and authorities involved are (fully) well-equipped and knowledgeable about it first ...but what's done is done.
Moving forward, I hope corruption and crazy kickbacks are going to stop once and for all. There must be transparency and proper governance as to how public funds are being utilised.
I've been a tax-payer since I started work in 2001. I always pay on time. I may not like it, but I do it because our government has a country to run and I am a proud citizen of Malaysia. I pay my Cukai Taksiran, I pay taxes imposed on me when I purchase something online from overseas. And I'm one of those who didn't make a huge fuss when GST was introduced BUT I did go all lengths to know more about it and to find out how I can cut costs by revising my monthly budget, and trimming things that the family don't really need.
I've used an example on how the Swedes are exceptionally OK with their high taxes (GST alone is 25%) and this is due to their system and the efficiency of their administrators. (It's too long to type it all out here, but it's on my Instagram post: daphneiking).
About the water deal.
This is one of the most recent articles I can find online:
"The Selangor state government is committed to finding a swift solution to its long-held ambition to restructure the state’s water industry, provided that its federal counterpart lives up to its end of the bargain, Mentri Besar Azmin Ali said today."
"Finding a SWIFT solution to it LONG-held ambition." "provided"
This issue has been ding-donging for so long. I lost track on the mud-slinging.
It's very tiring. The same goes with plans for better roads, highways, public transportation ...yadayadayada.
I akin it to parents who are getting a divorce and fighting over who gets what ... who pays how much....
And while that drama unfolds, guess who suffers most? The children.
In this case. The rakyat.
Ok itu sahaja buat Jumaat ini.
Bye.

World's best motorcycle pants are RHOK (search Ebay for them) My first time trying out the Multiplayer on Homefront. This is a review of sorts showing the gameplay of my first time on.
If you are gonna upgrade your computer in the future then be sure to check out: http://www.nzxt.com/new/ before you do.
HomeFront:
"We want to stress that Homefront is one of a tiny handful of titles offering dedicated server support on console, and the infrastructure and networking code required to support this is much more complex and demanding than simple peer-to-peer matchmaking you see in most other FPS games. The pay-off is larger maps, more players, and an equal playing field for all -- something we believe is critical for fair, balanced online FPS gameplay.
Every game that goes the extra mile to provide dedicated servers faces additional teething problems in the first few days as the kinks are ironed out, but please bear with us as we address these -- the result will be worth it."
