【疫情下長者數碼經驗：Bridging the Digital Divide for the Elderly】

Last Friday, Tech for Good Asia in association with Solis Strategy and speakers from AlipayHK, Facebook and Senior Citizen Home Safety Association and also representatives from the elderly and the medical field held an engaging conversation on how digitalization made the difference during the pandemic for those who provided services to the elderly, as well as from the experience of the elderly themselves.

【Bridging The Digital Divide For Elderly | 疫情下長者數碼經驗】

Under the pandemic, digitalisation has accelerated and become part of our everyday life. For the elderly, how can they adopted to these new challenges?

The routine services to the elderly has been disrupted during the pandemic. The elderly have to encounter unprecedented difficulties in their ordinary life, from Covid-testing, vaccination, regular medical appointments, or even access to daily necessities. In light of this drastic changes, how should our elderly react and how the digital technologies could help them to cope with these issues?

We and Solis Strategy are co-organising a webinar on 6 August 2021. We have invited speakers from AlipayHK, Facebook, Senior Citizen Home Safety Association and the medical sector, to discuss the real-life problems the elderly faced during the pandemic and share their thoughts on how technology could help everyone in this difficult situation.

This pre-recorded webinar will be posted on our social media platform. We hope this would help the community to understand the improvements technology can possibly bring to us all.

疫情下，電子科技及數碼化已經加速成為我們生活的一部分。但同時間，長者是否能適應及面對這一個改變？

疫情下，長者服務受到莫大影響，面對預約檢測、接種疫苗、醫院覆診，甚至如何買飯等等，平時的生活已變成長者的前所未見的難題，面對日常生活出現的突變，我們的長者如何自處？我們的數碼化科技如何可以幫助長者解決問題？

我們聯同Solis Strategy將會在8月6日舉辦研討會，並從AlipayHK、Facebook、長者安居協會及醫療界邀請到的嘉賓，一起討論在疫情下長者面對的問題，並和大家分享科技如何協助大家面對困景，渡過難關。

這研討會是錄影製作，並會在稍後時間剪輯成短片在我們平台播放，希望令大家一起了解更多科技為社會帶來的幫助。

Tech For Good Asia Webinar – Bridging the Digital Divide for the Elderly

Tech For Good Asia, along with Solis Strategy, co-organised a webinar to discuss the difficulties that the elderly encountered during the pandemic and how technology could help them overcome the barriers and stay connected.

Session 2 – How technology can support the elderly during the pandemic?

The social distancing measures and travel restrictions have disrupted everyone’s ordinary routine. It was particularly hard for the elderly to adapt to such drastic changes. In this session, we have invited speakers from AlipayHK, Facebook and the medical sector to share with us how new technology could improve the quality of life of the elderly during the pandemic.

In this part, Mr. Simon Leung (Head of Business Development, AlipayHK) and Ms. Maggie Tam (Public Policy Manager, Facebook) further discussed some examples on their platforms of how Seniors and others make use of their technology tools to stay healthy and provide psychological support during the pandemic and even lockdown periods.

Tech For Good Asia 接軌智慧時代全社會動員網上研討會：

「Tech For Good Asia」及與合作夥伴「Solis Strategy」合辦了網上研討會，這研討會透過錄影製作，並會剪輯成六個部份去了解去年疫情下長者面對的困難以及解決方法。

環節二：以科技支援長者在疫情中的生活

在疫情間香港實施出入境近乎封關、保持社交距離及相關限制措施等都突如其來的改變了大家的生活，當中長者更難適應這個急速的改變。我們在這部分邀請到AlipayHK、Facebook以及醫療界別的講者為大家講述如何以科技支援長者在疫情中的生活。

在這部分，AlipayHK電子支付平台總監梁溢堅先生和Facebook香港公共政策經理譚雋蘭女士繼續提出了例子，討論他們的平台和服務能如何協助長者們，即使在疫情下仍能保持身體及精神健康。
