Week 2 Day 1, AM.
Fifth time participated in MPI Generali Run (formally known as MPIB Run). This time no longer have two categories, there is only a 10km and 5km fun run (costume run) from what I know. Unlike last time, there always will have a 12km and 9km events.
Took part in Men Open 10km. Got my bib super last minute, 10 minutes before flag off. Didn't have enough time to warm up plus a late night sleep the night before due to attend cousin's wedding dinner.
Always keep myself think positive and think of running it easy the first half and push harder in the second half. Did a few striding before the race very last minute and went to the starting line. Flag off on time at 7am, two Kenyan flied off, me and Anas running side by side. Uphill in the beginning followed by a downhill, Anas flying down so fast and I choose not to follow.
Running alone for awhile and Siva, Rosnizam came up and we ran together. Few times Nizam surged, Siva followed closely and I choose not to follow the surge but slowly pick up the pace when we hit the hills. Attacked on the hill and I made a move to pull a gap between them. Looking at Anas's back after completed few hills. From 350m between me and Anas, I start to close down the gap down to 100m, 18 seconds difference. Until last km, down to 60m, dipped harder on every hills, trying to match him, but once reach down hill, he picked up the pace.
Did not able to beat him till the end and looking him crossed the line when I was heading to finishing line. It is a good fight between us. Challenging race due to lack of sleep but thanks to the Zero X'Streme electrolyte from High5 Sports Nutrition I took before the race, manage to keep me stay focus throughout the race.
Clocked the race with 36:25 minutes, 10.4km, 3:30 min/km average, filled up with few strong kl signature hills.
Thanks to all my sponsor for the non stop support. Thanks to all the photographers and volunteers. You guys did a great job.
Time to sleep and do a recovery run later in the evening.

Week 12 Day 7, PM.
Took part in Sundown Singapore and got myself a 3rd placing Overall. Lost to a Kenyan and a Nepal. It is a great run anyway. Clocked a 34:21 min for the distance of 10km.
Lots of U-Turn road anyway, great route. Almost catch up with the second runner as he slowed down the last 2k. Thanks everyone for the support!

Malaysia Athletic Closed Championship & Perak Athletic Open 2017
Ask for the 5000m Gold Medal, and took a photo with the Gold Medal last night to motivate myself and for me to do my imagery on the night. Guess it works.
[New PB] for 5,000M Time. From previous 16:17.7 to 16:13.57 minutes.
In the beginning, I thought I signed up under Malaysia Athletic Closed Championship ended up I am in the Perak Open and I got Gold Medal for it.
It is really a good quality race as the field filled with Malaysia Closed athletes and we race together. The start list that I posted is the combination start list of both meets.
Cooling and cloudy weather play a role in today's achievement, but the key to achieve a good time today is mainly because of the word "patience".
Thanks to Dr Victor, my lecturer from Um who always told me to be patience in the event. Staying and running at your own pace definitely will get u a PB rather than you follow the lead pack and screw up at the end. He asked me a question: Wai Ching, if you maintain your race pace of 76s per 400m, you will achieve sub 16 min, what position you will get with the timing? Top 3 I answered based on the current best 5,000m timing. Then he said, why you want to take the risk and follow the lead pack and ended up with a poor timing.
I tried this method this morning and it works really well but at 77s pace. Always remember this, if you are go for timing, run on your own pace, if you aiming for medal, tag along the first few runners, but make sure you are able to follow and that's the main criteria.
Would like to thank everyone for the supports, the comments, the tips and the knowledge that share with me. Enjoy this morning race and looking forward on my next track event in two weeks time → Singapore Track & Field Open Championship !
