So I am in South Africa for a little holiday. While getting a local SIM card for my phone, Jefferey our salesman suddenly asked "Aren't you that guy with the two swords?". I've been coming here for the last ten years because it's one of the few places I didn't get recognized, I guess that may not be the case anymore. #southafrica
This is my friend Sumi. We have been friends for over 12 years. My very very best friend. We celebrated her birthday last night. Her birthday falls on August 30 and it has been a tradition to have a house party the night before because August 31 is a public holiday!!!
We met in our first year of college in KL and studied together in South Africa and then Melbourne. I did national service in Sepang and she did hers in Bau, Kuching.
We don’t hug each other, we don’t say miss you or love you, we don’t call each other babe (too weird!), but deep down we know, I have her and she has me. This is such a cringe message to write, because I’m not an affectionate person, neither is she. Thank you for introducing me to good music and to good pasta!! Happy belated birthday Sumi!
I honestly feel a bit geli writing this slightly heartfelt message. Ok bye!

【南非自由日國慶酒會🇿🇦】
Freedom Day is celebrated April 27 every year in South Africa. The national holiday commemorates the first open and free general election held on that day in 1994. This year, the Liaison Office of South Africa presented a Freedom Day celebration in full African Style. MOFA Vice Minister José María Liu attended the celebration and conveyed the best wishes of the government and people of Taiwan.
4月27日是南非自由日，也是南非的國慶日，今年南非聯絡辦事處 Liaison Office of South Africa在台北舉辦的國慶酒會，濃濃非洲風情讓出席的來賓一秒置身非洲🌍！
會場除了擺放「非洲Big5」大型冰雕🦁🐘🐃🐆🦏，更有廚師精心準備的當地美食，南非的活力與飲食文化一次到位~ 外交部劉德立次長也出席這場盛會，與南非駐臺代表麥哲培 (Robert Seraki Matsebe)共同慶祝！

My parents and I recently drove a few hours to the Drakensberg region in South Africa. Drakensberg means Dragon Mountains, by the way. No dragons were found, unfortunately, but we did find a rock pool and spontaneously decided to go swimming, just before getting caught in the rain. If you ever have a chance to visit South Africa, this mountain range is one of my country’s most beautiful!
