Up to 1.2 billion sperms are released in a single healthy adult male ejaculation, and yet only 1 sperm is needed to fertilize a female egg.
I noticed an interesting phenomenon whenever God’s word is preached in a church service.
The same message goes forth but different people get different revelations from it, are impacted by different specific parts of the sermon and many say that the sermon feels tailor-made for them.
It’s like there’s a specific seed (in Greek: sperma) for each individual heart.
We can learn from God’s design of our biology. Let’s look at the parallel between sexual intercourse and the preaching of God’s word.
Can we reclaim the purity of sex and not be ashamed to talk about it for godly purposes?
After all, God created sex for mankind to enjoy.
It is sin and the devil that perverted it, making it seem like something dirty or shameful.
Sex leads to ejaculation which causes a sperm to fertilize an egg, resulting in the conception of an embryo (new life).
Preaching leads to God’s word being sent forth which causes it to be implanted in a person’s heart through faith, resulting in spiritual rebirth—the person passes from death into life, becoming a child of God—a new creation in Christ.
“...receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” (James 1:21 WEB)
In other words, the parallel to sex is preaching. Sex results in physical pleasure whereas preaching causes spiritual pleasure.
It is enjoyable to hear God’s word. It is something to look forward to.
Just like the body has physical urges, our born-again spirit has urges to hear the preaching of God’s word.
Besides the enjoyment, hearing and believing the preached word of God results in life.
Every time you do this, you’re receiving a fresh infusion of abundant resurrection life in your entire being.
“My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.” (Proverbs 4:20-22 WEB)
Healing springs forth, health overflows, you get physically younger and stronger, your mind is filled with wisdom and God’s blessings pours into every area of your life.
This year, let the light of God’s word flood your eyes, ears and heart. You’ll experience more life and health in your entire being!

Light in your Whole Body
““No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”” (Luke 11:33-36 WEB)
Your eyes are like lamps and your body is like a room.
In a modern context, imagine that your eyes are like a ceiling light that you can switch on.
When you watch, read, and look at good things, you are allowing light to fill your body.
On the other hand, when you keep focusing on negative materials that produce fear, stress, worry, or any such thing, your body will be full of darkness.
The effect of such things is that you will feel lethargic, depressed, weak, and even experience mental or physical ailments (such as headaches).
When your body is filled with darkness, it means that you will experience death related effects like sickness, aging, ugliness, and even physical death.
The flip side is also true: if you focus on good things, like on God’s word and on Jesus, you will experience the benefits of light in your body: healing, health, youth renewal, added beauty, and long life.
If you want to stop physical aging in its tracks, you must receive a daily infusion of life. Feed on God’s word every day—even a little bit is good. Meditate on a piece of Scripture and ask the Holy Spirit to open your understanding to it. Ask Him to show you revelations about Jesus in the Word, and you will be transformed as you behold Him.
“My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.” (Proverbs 4:20-23 WEB)
God’s word is light and life to your whole body. What you receive through your eyes and ears will reach your heart if you accept it. Guard your heart—it contains your belief system, which affects what you do and experience in life.
Receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ with gladness. You will be strengthened from the inside-out!

I took cold/flu tablets just now as I had some runny nose. Medicines nowadays come with slips of paper inside the box that warn of all sorts of potential health hazards. Popping pills after taking certain substances can also prove deadly.
Only God’s word is the true medicine that doesn’t come with any side effects.
“My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.” (Proverbs 4:20-22 WEB)
Man-made medicine cannot be taken when you’re healthy, if not it will just act as poison.
Receive God’s word whether in health or in sickness. You will never overdose on it. You will never experience any damaging side effects.
You can take more than three doses a day, whether by hearing, or by reading.
God’s word is literally the miracle cure-all, able to solve every problem in life.
The flesh resists it, but the spirit knows it’s needed.
Take God’s word, and mix it well with faith. It’s sure to be beneficial to you and health to your whole body!
