"#Prudence, #swiftness, #forethought and an abundance of #PublicTrust in government” were the driving factors behind Taiwan’s successful containment of the #COVID19 pandemic, according to a letter to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros A. Ghebreyesus, signed by over 644 parliamentarians from 25 countries in #Europe.
The letter from our European friends urges the WHO to #IncludeTaiwan in its meetings, mechanisms and activities in the run up to the resumption of the 73rd World Health Assembly from November 9.
Despite its exclusion from this global disease prevention network, Taiwan has demonstrated its solidarity with the international community, donating masks, PPE and medical equipment to over 80 countries around the world, yet it is denied access to updated information on disease and border control measures and to the WHO COVID-19 Reference Laboratory Networks.
