「了不起寂寞」由葛大為作詞，將人在面對分手，試圖用理性說服自己與自我調適的心理狀態描寫得細膩而揪心。作家肆一在「了不起寂寞」歌曲導讀文案裡寫道：「『時間會是解藥。』大家總是這麼說。可是他們卻沒說，在習慣之前要撐過幾個黑夜、渡過幾次汰換，然後，還要再熬過幾次心碎才能換到。」面對失去，每個人最終都要學會與寂寞和平共處，能夠習慣寂寞，就能愛也能收。

這首歌的來源其實有個有如「麻雀變鳳凰」般的故事，因為「了不起寂寞」不是向流行歌詞曲業界成名的作者邀來的歌，而是戴愛玲從網路上「撈」出來的。戴愛玲身為排灣族的公主，平常就很關心原住民的動態，有一天她在「ShenAi原住民孩子」臉書粉絲頁上看到原住民創作團體「花甘岩」的創作自彈自唱影片，覺得她們寫的歌很好聽，於是透過唱片公司主動向她們邀歌，成員之一的作曲者杜花兒將她們手邊的創作歌曲交給唱片公司，最後選出「我和他和她的故事」這首歌，交由葛大為老師重新填詞，寫成「了不起寂寞」，也成為代表整張專輯核心概念的名稱。

《了不起寂寞》是在愛情甚至人生中每個人都必須面對的課題，人生的緣分有相聚就有別離，當一段感情不再，最後還是必須面對一個人寂寞的時刻。這首歌像是與自己的對話，告訴自己在愛情中最壞的結果「了不起寂寞」，回到單身的狀態也沒什麼了不起，總是會習慣，是堅強也是逞強。

《了不起寂寞》MV戴愛玲請到閨蜜好友夏于喬主演，最近專心轉戰電影戲劇演出的夏于喬為了戴愛玲演技大爆發，不但戲份貫穿整支MV，更將劇情中從熱戀、失戀到重新適應寂寞的過程演得絲絲入扣。哭點很低的戴愛玲說：「拍片當天喬喬在演哭戲的時候我都不敢靠近，一方面怕自己哭，一方面我太愛搞笑，怕喬喬看到我笑出來！」
