This is the Most Handsome lizard that I've ever seen. It's probably the dragon of Mt. Kinabalu. Don't eat me please...
(2/2) Kinabalu Crested Dragon (Hypsicalotes kinabaluensis) in Kinabalu National Park (Sabah, Borneo).
From the first moment I realized that it was special. First just because of the beauty of the animal. I was really impressed (maybe too impressed to make a good photo). Later, after posting it on FieldHerpForum, I realized how special this encounter was. Also after a search with Google I did not find another photo of an adult male Kinabalu Crested Dragon (Hypsicalotes kinabaluensis) like this.
I saw this animal on the first day. I was a bit disappointed about the amount of animals I saw. When Dieuwertje's Wildlife cinematography and I walked to the restaurant I saw this animal basking on the fence. We were lucky that this #lizard usually moves very slow. A special moment to remember!
