【追求百分之百的言論自由】
大家好，今天過得好嗎？
你知道嗎？今天(4/7)是 #言論自由日，是屬於台灣的特別日子。
「言論自由日」是為了紀念「自由時代週刊」創辦人鄭南榕。正因為有先人前仆後繼的犧牲抗爭、烈士義無反顧的奮鬥，#民主 和 #言論自由 才能昇華為一般民眾的日常。
今日的台灣，獲得 #自由之家 #2021年全球自由度調查報告 評比自由度 #亞洲第2；目前派駐在台灣的國際媒體，從去年1月至今年3月底為止新增21家，共39名首次來台駐點的國際媒體記者，包括美國 #紐約時報、#華盛頓郵報、#華爾街日報、#BBC 等國際重要媒體，儼然成為 #自由民主燈塔。
但是，就在我們不遠的地方，仍有言論自由受到法令的箝制、人身自由受到禁錮，迫害少數民族甚至還是進行式，我們深深的瞭解，言論自由得來不易，也熱切盼望與 #理念相近國家，一同努力，將言論自由這樣的基本人權與普世價值和世界友人共享。
今天，值得我們紀念；言論自由，則屬於所有人擁有。

As well as being #WorldHealthDay, in #Taiwan April 7 is #FreedomOfExpressionDay, commemorating the contributions of #NylonDeng and the Freedom Era Weekly magazine, which he kept open despite pressure from the authoritarian government of the time. His tragic story, however, could not be more relevant today, with the curtailing of whistle-blower doctors’ #FreedomOfSpeech with regard to the COVID-19 outbreak that led to the pandemic spiraling out of control.
#Taiwan has come a long way since the authoritarian era, ranking as the second freest country in Asia in the recently published Freedom in the World 2021 report by Freedom House and with international media outlets, including The New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and the BBC posting correspondents here. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that government #transparency and #democracy are as important in containing its spread as PPE and social distancing. We will continue to work with like-minded partners around the world to forward civil liberties and #FreedomOfExpression to counter the expansion of authoritarianism.
