Hiện tại thì Việt Nam đang nỗ lực triển khai tiêm vắc xin, còn ở Singapore thì phần lớn người dân đã tiêm đủ 2 mũi và họ cũng đã bắt đầu đón du khách tiêm đủ 2 mũi từ một số nước. Dù bụng đã rất bự nhưng mẹ bầu này vẫn cảm thấy háo hức chờ mong đến ngày được lên đường lắm lắm lắm. Mình hứa là khi mà mình được phủi bụi vali và lang thang Singapore thì không chỉ khoe đồ mua sắm nhé mà mình sẽ làm cả một food tour hoành tráng, khoe với các bạn những món mình mê nhất ở bên đó. Hứa nhé!
Còn từ giờ đến ngày đó thì tranh thủ có một người hàng xóm giỏi nấu nướng, nổi hứng chúng mình đã làm bánh củ cải Singapore (carrot cake) ăn. Chọn món này vì người hàng xóm cảm thấy thương bà bầu sau khi thấy bầu ở nhà cuồng chân, kêu rên đòi đi Singapore chơi. Người hàng xóm này cũng là người mà hôm trước cùng mình làm một mẻ bathbomb “nhà nấu” bá cháy bọ chét các bạn có nhớ không? Vegetarian Turnip Cake

Steamed Yam Cake or some of you may know yam by the name or taro (therefore this dish is known as taro cake / in Chinese known as 芋头糕) is a Chinese savoury snack. The texture of this dish is rather similar to carrot/radish cake abeit much denser. You can either eat it as is after you've steamed it or pan fry the yam cake after steaming. We especially like to pan fry it because it gives the edges a crispy crunch which is a perfect combination with the kueh kueh and moist texture.

Ingredients:
Makes 8 - 10 servings
6 pcs of Chinese dried mushrooms (soak in 250ml water - retain this soaking liquid)
30g of dried shrimp (soak in 250ml water - retain this soaking liquid)
200g of yam (taro) - cut into cubes
240g of rice flour
45g of tapioca flour or cornflour
1 teaspoo of chicken stock powder
1.5 teaspoons of salt
A few dashes of white pepper
500ml of water
500ml of soaking liquid (as above - used for dried mushrooms & dried shrimp)
Garnishing

Fried shallots
Fresh red chilli
Spring onion

I LOVEEEEEEE Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐. Their food is soooo yummy. Thanks to BreadTalk, we are lucky to have DTF here in Singapore so we can eat this anytime we want. Every time I pass by one of their restaurants, I will always have an urge to dine in there. Some of my must-order dishes in Din Tai Fung include fried rice with five-spice pork cutlet, xiao long bao as well as this crispy golden prawn pancake. While Roland is still trying to replicate the taste of their fried rice, he's pretty good in replicating this dish which is really easy to make.
