Protect historic Shing Wong Street and its tenement buildings
Shing Wong Street 城皇街 is one of the oldest ladder streets in our city. It was named after Shing Wong Temple which was located on the site of PMQ in the 1840s. Chinese tenement buildings built in the 1940-50s can still be found on Shing Wong Street today. This architectural heritage and cultural landscape will be destroyed if the Urban Renewal Authority pushes through its highrise redevelopment scheme.
