‘Everybody in The Place: An Incomplete History of Britain 1984-1992,’ the new film written and directed by Jeremy Deller, explores the social history of the UK between 1985 and 1993 through the lens of acid house and rave music. 昨天分享〈Blue Monday〉時，有提到這首神級單曲可說是開啟了90年代indie-dance乃至electronic-rock的一道大門。而在整個90年代裡，從indie-dance經過big beat再到nu-psychedelia所成就的「電子 x （獨立）搖滾」演進脈絡，不但成為2000年代nu-rave乃至dance-rock風潮的重要藍本，更是大大地影響了我DJ與音樂聆聽的歷程。
順著這個演進脈絡裡，我在90年代末遇上這個來自倫敦的Lo-Fidelity Allstars，成為自己心目中最愛的90年代樂團之一。
姑且不論你是否搞得懂當年英國音樂傳媒所賦予他們的「skunk rock」音樂風格是怎麼一回事，認不認同加上他們身上的「龐克版Massive Attack」封號，但當時一連兩張專輯《How To Operate With A Blown Mind》與《Don't Be Afraid Of Love》，所展現那種如何將breakbeat、acid house、psychedelia、hip hop、funk等互異元素共冶一爐的折衷手法，在當時絕對讓我為之驚豔折服，所以自己也曾經很愛在Spin播放他們的〈Disco Machine Gun〉、〈Kool Rok Bass〉、〈Lo Fi's In Ibiza〉這幾首單曲 。
附帶一提，《How To Operate With A Blown Mind》與《Don't Be Afraid Of Love》這兩張專輯的日盤CD都有獨家加收曲目，不收不行啊！
