While we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Thailand, I want to wish all my friends in the United States a Happy Thanksgiving. When I was shooting Fast 7, I was in Atlanta during Thanksgiving. My friend Vin Diesel took me home for Thanksgiving dinner with his family. It had a wonderful time and was so impressed with the sense of togetherness that everyone had. It is something I will not forget.

Tahun 2020 penuh dengan cabaran. Dalam masa yang sama kita saksikan kecekalan yang tinggi dalam menempuhi dugaan. Ini termasuk kapasiti untuk menyesuaikan cara hidup kerana pandemik yang menjejaskan seluruh dunia.
Hari ini adalah kenyataan, kelmarin adalah pedoman, esok adalah harapan dan lembaran baru. Dengan mentaliti juara dan semangat kemuafakatan Bangsa Johor, saya pasti kita mampu mengharungi tahun 2021 dengan lebih berjaya.
Selamat menyambut tahun baru. Semoga Johor dan rakyatnya dirahmati dan diberkati selama-lamanya. Insya-Allah.

The year 2020 was full of challenges. At the same time we witnessed unbelievable tenacity in facing them. This included the capacity of adjusting our lives due to a global pandemic.
Today is a reality, yesterday was a lesson, tomorrow is an opportunity and a new page. With a champion-like mentality and Bangsa Johor's spirit of togetherness, I'm sure we can face the year 2021 even more successfully.
Happy New Year. May Johor and the rakyat be blessed and protected always. Insya-Allah.

Am very sad to learn that 8 bodies recovered from Mount Kinabalu have been identified as 1 teacher and 6 students from Tanjong Katong Primary School, plus an adventure guide who accompanied them. Our hearts go out to their families, and to the TKPS community.
Our officers are in Kota Kinabalu helping and supporting the families. We are arranging to bring them home as soon as possible.
Even while we grieve for those who perished, we are thankful that others survived the earthquake and have come home safely.
I thank all who are working tirelessly in the rescue and recovery efforts – the Malaysian authorities, the search and rescue teams and hospital staff in KK, and all our officers in KK and Singapore.
I have declared tomorrow, 8 June, a Day of National Remembrance. State flags on all Government buildings will be flown at half-mast. One minute of silence will be observed at the beginning of the day at all SEA Games venues.
As we grieve over the loss of these young lives, we also take heart at their striving to stretch their limits and take on new challenges. May this tragic incident strengthen our sense of togetherness, and our resolve to overcome adversity and prevail as one united Singapore. - LHL

"Stay Where You Are" is song that I wrote about self-reflection and taking some time for yourself - sometimes we all need a little bit of time to be away from the people we love to battle with our demons and come back a stronger, better person. I feel like this song hits harder right now with the fact that we are all isolated in our homes, some are even away from their loved ones not being able to be with them but even though we're apart, it's nice to remind each other to just "stay where you are, don't leave, I will come and find you." and in our situation today, "stay where you are, we depend on it, when this is all over, I will come find you and be with you again." There's a strong sense of togetherness in the song that I love, that when you listen to it, you know that whatever you are going through, you are not alone.

古宇利大橋是沖繩縣內連接離島長度第二的大橋，全長約2公里，連接屋我地島及古宇利島的跨海大橋。橋的另一端的「古宇利島」，則留有琉球人發祥地的傳說。
