Today is Singapore Nurses’ Day. It is a day to honour our nurses who have dedicated their lives to looking after the sick and infirm. It is backbreaking, thankless work — often, they sacrifice time with their families to ensure that we get to spend more time with ours.

Nursing is a calling, and this is certainly true of Mr Clement Ng. Formerly an engineer in the oil and gas industry, he was drawn to nursing as a career at the age of 59! Today, he works in a community hospital caring for patients.

Nursing is in its 135th year in Singapore. It has come a long way: over the years, the role has expanded, with community nurses like Clement becoming more widespread. Today there are about 42,000 nurses in Singapore, who care for their patients both in and out of hospitals. Amidst this COVID-19 crisis, their role is more critical than ever. It has been a tough six months, but we are in good shape thanks to your efforts. I, and all of Singapore, thank you for your tireless service. Happy Nurses’ Day! – LHL

因為中心希望更準確的知道身體狀況，所以被安排了二次採檢。
護理人員們在這個忙翻的日子裡，看到我還要對我露出笑容（雖然戴口罩看不到），但我感覺得到她在笑，感覺得到她的親切，在我離開的時候不忘對我說聲加油，因為常常聽到很多人對我說加油，所以在第一時間的正常反應是說聲：謝謝。 看到旁邊的工作人員也對我做出了這手勢(加油)，我點了點頭表示知道。

在車上的這段時間裡，想著辛苦的你們對我說加油，而我卻忘了也和你們說聲：「加油」。在現在這個時間點上，應該是我需要對醫護人員們說聲：加油和謝謝你們。謝謝你們在最危險的第一線接觸所有不管來自哪裡的人們～辛苦所有的醫護人員

而我還有來自各方 #穎迷粉 的關心和隔離期間收到的各式養胖我的食物，雖然我也不知道到底是不是我肌肉掉光了，才維持了這沒變化太大的體重。謝謝所有總是對我說加油的你們，沒有比賽的日子，依然需要練習，希望這段日子大家都可以健康、平安的度過。

It happened two days ago. Morning. Already received rumours of a possible lockdown. Mew Choo made a list of whatever necessary for 2 weeks. Some 5 chickens, some vege, a bag of rice, two dozens of eggs, 2 packs of instant noodles, a cooking oil and one packet of toilet rolls.

I reached the nearest supermarket. Oh my, many aunties dashing the store with overflow shopping trollies. The anxiousness creeped in as if my first Olympics years ago. Situation was crazy. Fortunately, I managed to gather wife’s list, except for one. The toilet paper! There were people pushing trolleys with 10 bags of toilet papers! How many buttholes one needs to wash with that many? (Toilet papers are important during previous pandemic period due to unclean water and psychological effect)

Magically, a gentle voice from behind greeted “Lee, you can take this pack. I took two just now and you know I don’t use it to wash”. It was Nazir, a friend who stays nearby. We laughed and joked a little. Noting more trolleys sprinters ambushing the store, I sped off as soon as I could, knowing that the pandemic is highly contagious.

My friends. I know we are facing an unprecedented crisis. Please do store food. But don’t store like there is no tomorrow. More importantly, stay home! Treat as though you yourself are carrying the virus, don’t go back to your hometown to your parents. Stay home! If you don’t, your love ones will die!

We Malaysians are better than this. I know Malaysians and the whole world will win this war. And it will be easier if we work together.

Lastly my upmost appreciation the frontliners like the doctors, nurses, hospital staffs, supermarket cashiers etc. You risk your lives so we can live ours. Chong Wei bow to you guys. Thank you.

Dua hari lepas, ada khabar angin restriction order berkenaan coronavirus ni. So Mew Choo pon suruh pergi beli ape yg patut untuk 2 minggu ni. Wife add maths lagi terrer, so ikot shopping list wife. Family 4 orang, ayam 5 ekor, beras 1 bag, sayur 2 minggu, Maggie 2 pack, telor 2 dozen, buah, toilet paper 1 bag.

Tapi time I sampai supermarket, aduhai! Ramainyer auntie2 makcik2, macam lumba marathon trolly! Kalah Khairul Jantan! Nasib baik sempat lagi kumpul shopping list wife. Tapi toilet paper I terlambat. Ternganga I tgk mamat depan I tapao 10 bag tisu jamban! Banyaknyer jubur kat rumah. (I ingat masa dulu dalam situasi wabak yg bahaya, air paip pon akan jadi bahaya. Itu sebab tisu tandas jadi penting.)

Datang satu suara menyeru dari belakang, ”Lee, nah amik bag ni. I terambik 2. Tadi tgk sumer rebut tapao wa pon terikot amik extra, ntah kenape, bukan I pakai untuk basuh pon!“ Dia Nazir, sahabat yang tinggal berhampiran. Kita tergelak and catch up sket. Selepas tu, makin ramai gangster trolly serbu, I pon terus cabut, sebab I tau virus ni merebak mudah.

Kawan sekalian, saya berharap agar jangan cemas menghadapi krisis ini. Simpanlah makanan tapi berpatutanlah bilangannya. Dan I minta tolong semua duduk di rumah jgn keluar sementara ni. Jangan balik kampong macam cuti raya. Ko mungkin ok, tapi yg mati nnt orang tersayang.

Percayalah, mimpi ngeri ini akan berakhir. Jangan panic. Kita warga Malaysia tak kira bangsa dan agama berganding bahu, bertolak ansur, tolong menolong, hari itu akan sampai dengan lebih cepat.

Kepada frontliners, para doctor, missi, kakitangan hospital dan juga cashier pasaraya yang terus berkhidmat dalam masa ini. Terimalah tunduk kehormatan dari saya!

Cara paling baik kita membalas budi dan bersumbang, is to #STAYHOME

Hello Youtube Family,

So a couple days ago, I was admitted to hospital due to bleeding issues. After a vaginal examination (lovely!), they wanted to keep me overnight to monitor the baby and I. I was only kept overnight and as worried as I was, I had a pretty good time at the hospital. The nurses and doctors from The Royal Maternity were SO NICE! It didn't take long for me to feel comfortable because they were constantly reassuring me that I was in good hands. Initially, the scare was that my placenta was tearing but looks like it's due to my poly polyps bleeding/being infected. The biggest reassuring moment came from the ultrasound technician as she saw nothing alarming with my placenta. Baby Acorn was constantly kicking me to let me know everything is more than okay. In fact, I felt quite bad taking up the nurses and doctor's time because i got to meet other fellow mummies and they had conditions that were much more serious than mine. Nonetheless, I enjoyed meeting the new mummy friends there =) I'm now taking it easy with my movements. It's amazing what one day of bed rest can do for the pain and bleeding.

Don't worry, guys. I'm so sorry for making you worry. Thank you once again for your kind words and prayers. Everything has made me cherish little acorn even more. We're super excited for our little baby shower/gender reveal this weekend. You guys will finally find out the baby's sex VERY SOON! Place your bets hehe!!

華音です。今回はイギリス政府から届いた手紙の開封と、最近コロナが広まってからより多く届くようになった詐欺のメールの紹介や、コロナ太りに効果のある方法を６つ紹介しました。多くのお金を使って首相から手紙が届くなんて思ってもみませんでした。今こそ皆で一丸となって乗り越えようというメッセージは、どこでも言っていることだけど手紙という形で受け取るのはまた違った重みがあるなと思いました。

こちらがイギリスの首相が書いた手紙の原文です。

I am writing to you to update you on the steps we are taking to combat coronavirus.
In just a few short weeks, everyday life in this country has changed dramatically. We all feel the profound impact of coronavirus not just on ourselves, but on our loved ones and our communities.
I understand completely the difficulties this disruption has caused to your lives, businesses and jobs. But the action we have taken is absolutely necessary, for one very simple reason.
If too many people become seriously unwell at one time, the NHS will be unable to cope. This will cost lives. We must slow the spread of the disease, and reduce the number of people needing hospital treatment in order to save as many lives as possible.

That is why we are giving one simple instruction - you must stay at home.
You should not meet friends or relatives who do not live in your home. You may only leave your home for very limited purposes, such as buying food and medicine, exercising once a day and seeking medical attention. You can travel to and from work but should work from home if you can.
When you do have to leave your home, you should ensure, wherever possible, that you are two metres apart from anyone outside of your household.
These rules must be observed. So, if people break the rules, the police will issue fines and disperse gatherings.
I know many of you will be deeply worried about the financial impact on you and your family. The government will do whatever it takes to help you make ends meet and put food on the table.
The enclosed leaflet sets out more detail about the support available and the rules you need to follow. You can also find the latest advice at gov.uk/coronavirus
From the start, we have sought to put in the right measures at the right time. We will not hesitate to go further if that is what the scientific and medical advice tells us we must do.
It's important for me to level with you - we know things will get worse before they get better. But we are making the right preparations, and the more we all follow the rules, the fewer lives will be lost and the sooner life can return to normal.
I want to thank everyone who is working flat out to beat the virus, in particular the staff in our fantastic NHS and care sector across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It has been truly inspirational to see our doctors, nurses and other carers rise magnificently to the needs of the hour.

Thousands of retired doctors and nurses are returning to the NHS - and hundreds of thousands of citizens are volunteering to help the most vulnerable. It is with that great British spirit that we will beat coronavirus and we will beat it together.
That is why, at this moment of national emergency, I urge you, please, to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
