Makanan yang perlu dielakkan daripada diberi kepada bayi dan kanak-kanak kecil
❌ Garam
Bayi tidak sepatutnya makan garam tinggi kerana tidak bagus untuk buah pinggang. Tidak perlu naikkan rasa makanan bayi dengan garam dan serbuk perasa.
Sentiasa ingat, bila masak untuk dewasa, sediakan untuk anak-anak yang kurang garam.
Elakkan makanan seperti kentang goreng bergaram, jajan, fast food, makanan luar untuk anak-anak kita. Kita tidak tahu kandungan garam di dalam makanan tersebut.
❌ Gula
Bayi tak perlukan gula tambahan. Elakkan memberi minuman tinggi gula termasuk jus buah, minuman kultur dsb. Anda boleh elakkan gigi rosak.
❌ Lemak Tepu
Makanan tinggi lemak tepu tidak baik untuk jantung dan salur darah. Elakkan makanan yang tinggi lemak.
❌ Madu
Kadang-kadang, madu mengandungi bakteria, yang boleh merembeskan toksin dan akan menyebabkan botulism kepada anak kecil, yang sangat merbahaya kepada mereka.
Jangan berikan madu sehingga anak mencapai umur 1 tahun. Madu juga sejenis gula. Jadi mengelak madu juga mencegah gigi rosak.
❌ Kekacang
Kekacang tidak sepatutnya diberikan pada kanak-kanak bawah 5 tahun. Terdapat banyak kes tercekik dilaporkan kebelakangan ini.
Jika nak berikan pada kanak-kanak berumur 6 bulan ke atas, pastikan ianya dihancurkan.
Hati-hati juga. Ada anak-anak yang allergic kekacang dan kekurangan g6pd (kacang parang).
❌ Telur mentah
Bayi boleh makan telur bermula 6 bulan. Namun pastikan ianya dimasak sepenuhnya. Bakteria salmonella yang ada pada telur boleh menyebabkan keracunan dan kematian. Ianya akan mati jika telur dimasak sepenuhnya.
❌ Makanan laut bercengkerang
Kerang, kepah, kupang, oyster dsb. Pastikan ianya dimasak dengan baik. Jangan dimakan mentah atau kurang masak. Ianya boleh menyebabkan keracunan.

❌ Salt

❌ Sugar

❌ Saturated Fat
Saturated fat food is not good for the heart and blood vessels. Avoid high fat foods.
❌ Honey

❌ Peanut

食材小貼士:
田七又名三七,性溫,有祛瘀、消腫、止痛的作用。適合各種內外出血、跌打損傷、瘀血腫痛、婦女月經過多、功能性子宮出血、產後惡露不下者食用。
舞茸田七淮山黑豆湯
功效:益氣補腎,紓緩神疲乏力、手腳冰冷、頭髮早白、脫髮等症狀。
材料:舞茸菇2朵、新鮮淮山1根、紅蘿蔔1根、田七9克、黑豆30克、花生30克、枸杞子20克
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨,淮山、紅蘿蔔去皮切塊。
2. 鍋中加入2500毫升水及所有材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮2小時,最後下鹽調味即可。

Soup to lighten postpartum chloasma
Women will encounter all sorts of health problems after giving birth, and some would develop chloasma on the cheeks. The brownish patches of skin are also called melisma or mask of pregnancy, and they developed due to hormonal changes during pregnancy.
Chinese Medicine principles opine that postpartum chloasma is associated with the health of the patient’s liver, spleen, and kidneys. The stagnation of the qi and blood basis can disrupt the circulation of the body, causing the skin to look dull and develop spots. A spleen with a weak qi would not restore the radiant complexion to the skin effectively, causing the skin to turn sallow. A yin-deficient kidney can also cause the skin to look dry and dull.
Hence, it is vital for mothers who have just given birth to take care of their bodies. Drink soups that can nourish the liver, spleen, and kidneys. These soups should include ingredients like black-boned chicken, Polygonum multiflorum (‘He Shou Wu’), black fungus, black bean, wolfberry, chestnut, walnut, and mulberry.
Tips on ingredient:
Notoginseng (‘Tian Qi’), known as San Qi in Mandarin, is warm in nature. It can clear stasis, swelling, and relieve pain. It is suitable to control both internal and external bleeding and bruises, clear blood stasis, and relieve swelling and pain. It is not suitable for women who experience severe blood loss during period, bleeding womb, and postpartum bleeding (lochia).
Maitake mushroom and notoginseng soup with black bean
Effects: Replenishes qi and invigorates the kidneys. Relieves fatigue, treats cold hands and feet, premature graying of hair and hair loss.
Ingredients: 2 maitake mushrooms, 1 fresh wild yam, 1 carrot, 9g notoginseng, 30g black beans, 30g peanuts, 20 wolfberries
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Cut the peeled wild yam and carrot into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 2 hour. Add salt to taste.

Pernah dengar tentang Glycemic Index (GI) /indeks glisemik?
Perasan tak pada beberapa roti Gardenia ada ditandakan brpkah nilai GI nya?
Jika yg wholemeal GI paling rendah iaitu 55, kemudian ada yg 64 dan 66. Roti Gardenia putih tidak ditandakan langsung kerana GI nya lebih tinggi sekitar 90!
Indeks Glisemik atau Glycemic Index (GI) adalah skala atau angka yang diberikan pada makanan tertentu berdasarkan seberapa cepat makanan tersebut meningkatkan KADAR GULA DARAHnya, skala yg digunakan adalah 0-100.
Makin tinggi indeks glikemik suatu makanan, makin cepat impaknya terhadap kenaikan gula darah.
Makanan dibagi ke 3 kategori:
Index glikemik rendah, sedang dan tinggi.
Dalam bahasa ringkasnya, Makanan dgn GI Tinggi akan cepat menaikkan kadar gula dan insulin. Anda akan cepat lapar. Biasanya 30min ke 1 jam setelah makan makanan ini anda akan terasa lapar semula.
GI sedang adalah makanan yang biasanya bertahan 2-3 jam baru anda lapar lagi.
Sedangkan makanan dgn GI Rendah akan bertahan selama 3-4 jam kerana makanan dgn GI rendah akan lebih lambat dicerna dan akan menjaga kadar gula dalam darah anda tetap berada di paras normal. Untuk mereka yang berniat menjaga kesihatan, berat badan ideal dan bahkan yang ingin turun berat badan, ini adalah makanan yang lebih banyak perlu dipilih.

Tapi ingat! Index glisemik berbeza dengan kalori. Walaupun index glisemiknya rendah, anda tetap harus perihatin dengan yg kalorinya tinggi. Misal: Kacang. Kacang memiliki index glikemik rendah tapi kalorinya sangat tinggi. Jadi kalau anda makan berlebihan, ia tidak membantu program org yg ingin turun berat badan.

If the wholemeal goes to the lowest which is 55, then there are 64 and 66. White Gardenia bread not marked at all because the GI is higher about 90!
Glycemic Index (Glycemic Index) is a scale or number given to certain food based on how fast the food increases its BLOOD SUGAR, the scale used is 0-100.
The higher the glycemic index of a food, the faster the impact of blood sugar increases.
Food divided into 3 categories:
Low glycemic index, medium and high.
In the the language, food with high gi will quickly increase the rate of sugar and insulin. You will be hungry quickly. Usually 30 min to 1 hours after eating this food you will be hungry again.
GI is a food that usually lasts 2-3 hours then you're hungry again.
While the food with low gi will last for 3-4 hours because the food with low gi will be slower and will keep the sugar rate in your blood still at normal level. For those who want to take care of health, ideal weight and even those who want to lose weight, this is more food to choose from.

But remember! Glysemic index is different from calories. Even though the glysemic index is low, you still have to be concerned with the calories are high. For example: Peanuts.
