Another “dog” pose - #upwardfacingdog 🙌🏽 🐶 This #backtobasic pose is usually done as a transitional posture in our sun salutation or vinyasa sequence. I was so excited when I first successfully transited from #chaturanga to upward dog (feeling strong aha!💪🏽😜) However, repetitive practices with bad alignments (esp. we usually rush through upward dog in between the sequence) may easily lead to injury!

Push your hands down into the floor, push your chest forward, draw your shoulder blades down the back, lift your lower ribs, belly, hips, thighs and knees (basically everything except your feet😅) off the floor. Take time to aware and keep your good alignment habits than to rush through it.🤓☝🏽I love moving into a side plank sometimes if I want some core that day!💦

My tip: You don’t have to point your face up toward the sky just because it’s called UPWARD FACING dog!🤣👌🏽 Find your own comfortable head placement and feeling no compression in your neck; breathe, #smile and ENJOY!🙂💕

About Rocket Yoga, Developed by Larry Shultz in the 80’s, The Rocket Yoga is playful practice that will “take you there faster”.
Yoga for those who want to feel the physical “hit” on the way to eternal bliss without having to snap limbs off to get it. The original rebel yoga. Don’t wait for the good times- Spend your retirement fund now. You might not be able to actually do it yet, but at least you get to try. With a musical soundtrack to keep you lifted.… If you want to have a go at something, do it. If you want to skip something, do it. Take a break, do it. Go harder, do it. You may be taking a moment in Child’s pose while the person on the mat next to you is flying up into a handstand, but as long as you’re both still breathing that victorious breath, you’re both still on The Rocket.

1. Game changing drills to improve your practice (Headstand, Forearm Stand and Handstand)

3. Rocket Yoga Sequence will be provided (Rocket 2 by Corey)
4. Pranayama. The science behinds the breathing exercise? Various of Pranayama. How to develop the ability for self-practice. How the heart rate can be controlled. How you can utilize pranayama getting ready for the next limb (Pratyahara).
5. The applications of Bandha and what is the science behind it ?
6. The Art of modifications: What do you do when your feet can’t be off the mat ? In Rocket you will never “just sit there and watch the show”, everybody got something to do but you just have to learn to Rock It Your Way !
7. Special Rocket Yin Yoga to relax the muscles, improve flexibility and still the mind.
8. Why learning the sequencing of the Rocket turn you into a better Vinyasa teacher ?

Cobra is such a common yoga pose, but when I just started, I didn’t know what I was supposed to be feeling or doing. ⠀
Now that I know a better, let me share with you 😉🙏🏽⠀

Cobra is a reclining back-bending pose that is often practiced as an alternative to upward facing dog (knees off the ground) in sun salutations ☀️ ⠀
⠀
Benefits:⠀
💛Strengthens arms, back & buttocks⠀
💛Increases flexibility in the spine⠀
💛Stretches chest, shoulders, lungs, abdomen & massages internal organs.⠀
💛Relieves stress & fatigue.⠀
💛Opens heart & throat chakras.⠀
⠀
🌚 Counter poses: Downward facing dog, child’s pose... ⠀
⠀
Things to remember in this pose:⠀
💫Slightly squeeze your elbows towards your body rather than letting them go out to the sides.⠀
💫Press firmly down through the tops of your feet and your thighs. Draw your tailbone toward the ground.⠀
💫On an inhale, reach your chest forward and up. Draw your shoulders away from your ears.⠀
💫Stay here or press into your palms and begin to straighten your elbows. Keep your legs engaged as you lift your chest forward and up.⠀
💫Stay in the pose for up to 30 seconds.⠀
💫To release, lower your body as you exhale and rest on the floor.⠀
