Kueh dadar is one of the most popular Peranakan snacks in Singapore. Filled up with cooked grated coconut and gula melaka (palm sugar), you just have to take a bite to see the sweet appeal! A pan can be used to make a thin pandan crepe, though it would take some precision and practice to get right. Make sure to use the same amount of the mixture each time so you get consistently sized thin pandan blankets all the time.
You can enjoy the kueh dadar at any point of the day, though we like it in the afternoons for a little sugar rush to pull through the day!

SAKIT DI TULANG EKOR (COCCYDYNIA) SELEPAS MELAHIRKAN ANAK.
Selepas melahirkan anak, mommy ada rasa sakit di hujung tulang belakang tak?
Buat kerja banyak sikit, cepat lenguh. Diri lama sikit, dah rasa sengal-sengal dekat belakang. Kalau baring atas simen atau lantai, mudah rasa ngilu dan sakit.
Ada ibu yang mengalami sakit belakang ni sampai mengganggu segala kerja harian mereka.
Menurut Dr Zubaidi Hj Ahmad melalui postingnya..

Salah satu punca kesakitan pada tulang ekor (coccyx) ialah proses melahirkan anak. Kesakitan pada tulang ekor ini dinamakan coccydynia. Ia kerap berlaku pada kelahiran normal melalui faraj.
Tulang ekor (coccyx) ialah sekumpulan tulang yang terakhir pada tulang belakang kita. Ia mempunyai 5 tulang yang berbeza. Adakalanya tulang-tulang ini bercantum menjadi 2 atau tiga segmen. Ia dicantumkan pada tulang belakang yang lebih besar oleh ligamen, yang membenarkan pergerakan antara tulang belakang dan tulang coccyx.

Ketika melahirkan bayi, bayi dikeluarkan melalui saluran peranakan (rahem dan faraj). Pergerakan bayi dari rahem ke luar melalui faraj memberikan tekanan fizikal pada tisu di sekeliling.
Tekanan ini boleh menyebabkan bengkakan dan koyakan pada tisu-tisu tersebut. Jika tekanan itu terlalu kuat, ia boleh menyebabkan tulang coccyx terseliuh (dislocate). Dalam kes yang jarang berlaku ia boleh menyebabkan tulang coccyx ini patah. Dalam kes-kes yang agak ekstrem, tulang yang patah boleh menusuk ke saluran dubur dan menyebabkan pendarahan.

Selalunya wanita yang sedang sakit ketika proses melahirkan tidak perasan tulang coccyxnya patah. Ini kerana kesakitan ketika melahirkan lebih kuat dari kesakitan akibat patah tulang coccyx. Setelah beberapa hari, barulah sakit di bahagian hujung tulang belakang dapat dirasakan. Walaubagaimanapun kadang-kala patah tulang coccyx dapat dikesan ketika lahir apabila terdengar bunyi seperti ranting yang patah.

Oleh itu wanita yang hamil anak yang bersaiz besar dinasihatkan menjalani pembedahan Caeserean kerana fizikal yang besar boleh menyebabkan tulang coccyx tercedera. Begitu juga jika bayi dilahirkan secara songsang. Proses kelahiran yang sukar akan memudahkan kecederaan ini.
Adakalanya wanita yang hamil itu sendiri mempunyai tulang coccyx yang tidak normal. Kelima-lima tulang itu mungkin bercantum menjadi satu dan melekat pada tulang belakang menyebabkan ia tidak boleh lagi bergerak bagi memberikan laluan ketika ketika bayi dilahirkan. Ia mudah patah atau terseliuh apabila wanita meneran bayi keluar.

Wanita yang pernah mengalami kecederaan tulang coccyx perlu memberitahu doktor yang menyambut kelahiran bayi bagi mengelakkan kerosakan tulang tulang coccyx lebih teruk. Kecederaan tulang coccyx biasa berlaku pada wanita yang agak obese dan terjatuh dari tangga dengan posisi duduk.
Hentakan pada tulang coccyx menyebabkan tulang itu cedera. Sekiranya wanita itu hamil dan melahirkan bayi bersaiz besar, ia akan menyebabkan kecederaan pada tulang coccyx ini bertambah teruk.

Kesakitan akibat kecederaan tulang ini semasa proses kelahiran selalunya ditanggung beberapa minggu terutama apabila ketika duduk atau berubah posisi dari bangun ke posisi berdiri.
Kesakitan ini membuatkan pesakit tidak dapat melakukan kerja rutin seharian dengan baik. Saya menasihatkan wanita yang mengalami kesakitan pada tulang coccyx akibat melahirkan anak harus berjumpa doktor untuk pemeriksaan.
Pemeriksaan fizikal dan xray akan dilakukan untk mengesahkan kerosakan pada tulang coccyx. Selalunya kecederaan sebegini akan pulih dalam masa beberapa minggu. Kebiasaannya 6 hingga 8 minggu.

Saya merasa simpati jika musibah ini berlaku pada wanita yang melahirkan. Tidak banyak yang boleh dilakukan kecuali doktor akan memberikan ubat penahan sakit sama ada berbentuk tablet atau suntikan. Pembedahan tidak membantu kecuali mengeluarkan tulang yang patah. Pembedahan bukanlah rawatan terbaik kerana banyak ligament dan otot yang melekat pada tulang coccyx ini. Ia boleh membawa komplikasi yang lebih teruk.
TIPS UNTUK REDAKAN KESAKITAN.
1. Tuamkan ice pack dibahagian belakang untuk mengurangkan bengkak dan sakit.
2. Ketika tidur, seeloknya tidur baring mengiring. Elakkan tidur terlentang atau menangkup, ia akan memberi tekanan kepada punggung dan tulang coccyx.
3. Ketika duduk, lapikkkan bantal di bahagia belakang badan.
4. Anda juga boleh berendam dlm kolam air panas atau tab mandi. Ia bagus utk merehatkan otot-otot pelvis yg melekat apda tulang coccyx yg sakit.
5. Mommy juga perlu disiplin utk minum air yang cukup dan makanan makanan yg banyak serat utk mengelakkan sembelit.
6. Minta suami urutkan selalu. Urut dengan minyak panas atau minyak yg boleh melegakan sengal2 badan.
7. Jangan paksa diri kalau tak larat, jangan angkat barang2 berat dan dapatkan kualiti tidur yang baik dan cukup.

Apam balik (English: 'turnover pancake') is a type of griddle pancake common in Southeast Asia. It is usually sold at specialist roadside stalls throughout Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
The pancake's batter is made from a mixture of flour, eggs, sugar, baking soda, coconut milk and water. The batter is cooked upon a thick round iron frying pan in plenty of palm margarine to avoid it sticking to the pan. Then other ingredients are sprinkled as filling; the most common or traditional is crushed peanut granules with sugar and sweetcorn kernels (available from cans), but modern innovations such as chocolate sprinkles and cheddar cheese are also available. Then, the pancake is folded (hence the name: "turnover pancake") and cut into several pieces.
The texture of the apam balik can vary depending on the amount of batter and type of pan used, from one that is akin to a crispier form of crumpets to small thin light pancake shells that break when bitten (the latter is usually called apam balik nipis, 'thin apam balik').
The dish has been declared a heritage food by the Malaysian Department of National Heritage.
There is a Peranakan variant, the apom balik, that closely resembles the Indonesian Serabi.
The dessert is also known by various names depending on the region. Some of them are: Martabak Manis (lit: sweet murtabak); Terang Bulan, because of the big round pancake resembling the shape of a full moon prior to folding; Apam Pulau Pinang; Kue Bandung (in Semarang, Java and its surrounding areas) Kuih Haji (in certain areas), Min Chiang Kueh;
Hok Lo Pan; Ban Jian Kuih, or; Chin Loong Pau.

70g of dried shrimps (soak in 1 cup of hot water, drained & minced)
