在6月初，美國派出三名國會議員向台灣宣布捐贈疫苗，最初只有75萬支。令台灣驚訝的是，美國於 6 月 20 日帶著 250 萬份疫苗捐給台灣。互聯網因對美國的感激和愛而爆炸；現在輪到我確保美國理解台灣的深切感激！

我打算把大家的感謝之詞放在一起，編成一封信，寄給美國30多位國會議員。我希望讓美國親自了解住在台灣台灣的美國公民和台灣人對兩國之間的聯盟、支持和友誼的感激之情。

這封信中要詢問國會議員寫一封回信，或者與信和你們對美國疫苗捐贈的回應合照。我也會要求收到一面飄揚在美國國會大廈上的旗幟，併計劃將其捐贈給台灣當地政府或學校。

In early June, America sent three Congress Representatives to announce vaccines to Taiwan, initially only 750,000. To Taiwan's surprise, America arrived on June 20th with 2.5 million vaccines. The internet was exploding with gratitude and love for America; now it’s my turn to make sure America understands Taiwan's deep appreciation!

I plan to accumulate everyone’s kind words of gratitude, compile them into a letter, and send them to over 30 Congress Members in the United States. I hope to let the United States personally know how grateful American Citizens in Taiwan and Native Taiwanese feel towards the alliance, support, and friendship between the two countries.

As part of my letter, I am inquiring that the Congress member either writes a reply or takes a photo with the letter containing your response to American’s vaccine donation. I will also ask of receiving a flag that has been flown over the US Capitol building and plans to donate them to local Governments or Schools here in Taiwan.

How can you help? In the comments, please share your response to America’s generous donation of vaccines in support of Taiwan. Using English would be the best, although Chinese or any other language will still be acceptable! Follow this page for updates on the status of our letter to America.

我四年前搬到台灣的時候已經有計劃在三年內搬回去美國，但是住在台灣的第一年我就知道我應該會永遠在台灣. 一開始搬到新的國家不簡單，但是透過適應和學習的過程中可以慢慢地建立一個新的家. 因為疫情和其他發生的問題我很久沒回家而應該三到四年不會回去我開始有「想家」感覺. 但是想久之後發現我的家就在這，我想念的事就是我的家人，朋友和墨西哥菜.

我想家最大的原因是因為我永遠不能回去我心裡中的家. 已經離家太久了，家庭的小孩們都長大，環境都改了，而因為我最近的生活選擇我與一些家人朋友的關係永遠不會一樣. 我一開始想到這一點感覺有點難過，但是我現在對於這一點感覺很開心！我們的生活是該我們計劃的，並不是其他人，文化，或宗教. 我找到了一個適合我的地方，快樂的生活道路和一直支持我的朋友，不關我信什麼.

此影片的畫面已經在我的硬碟三年，我一直都在想我要什麼時候完成，如何剪接，和我在美國最後一天可以變成一個生命的教訓. 我想家，但是我也不想家. 我因為一些社會上的問題感覺好像我失去了我在美國的家，這樣我才那麼感謝把台灣叫做我的家. 大家，別以為我難過沮喪，我反而很快樂而高興！

When I initially moved to Taiwan, I had a three-year plan to move back to the United States. However, upon my first year in Taiwan, I knew that plan would never follow through. Moving abroad is not an easy thing, but after molding yourself through experiences and new life opportunities creating a new home is easy to accomplish. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic I haven’t and my parents moving to Guam, I may not return home for quite some time and have started to miss home. But thinking long about the term “Missing Home” has made me realize that I don’t miss home because I have one here; it’s my friends, family, and Mexican food that I miss.

I have had this video on my hard drive for three years now, not knowing how to edit it and always postponing it. This video is a great way to look back at what matters most to me and see how I have grown and what I have realized and learned while living abroad, a place much different than I grew up. Leaving home, family, culture, religion, or any prized possession is complicated, but they should never hold you down. Home is where you make it; your life should be paved by yourself, with no outside influences. I’ve allowed myself to think through this stage of being homesick to realize that I am happier now and have found my purpose despite the new differences in life.

💕「愛台灣，我的選擇」系列第10發: Anuj Bhardwaj的事業轉捩點在台灣

「我在2017年時搬到台灣，對我的家庭來說是一個大決定，當時有很多因素考量，但我們想給女兒不同的經驗，而且雖然我們從未拜訪台北，但已聽說過很多關於這個地方的正面評價。那時我正在創立一家美國醫療器材新創公司，搬到台灣不曉得會對我的職涯造成什麼影響。所幸在台灣，我很快發現醫療器材社群正蓬勃成長，而且有很強健的專業網絡。於是，我找到台灣的事業夥伴Layla Huang，她是一名生理學家同時也是創業家，她介紹我認識當地的工程供應商及顧問，最後他們都成為我公司價值鏈上不可或缺的角色。我在台灣生活的這段期間，我們的工作得到美國國防部高等研究計畫署的資助，這筆經費幫助我們精進神經刺激療法的超音波技術。具體來說，美國國防部對這項治療發炎的技術相當有興趣，因為除了一般民眾會有這種症狀外，軍人與退役軍人更是高風險群。這是我們過去幾年的工作重點，而自新冠肺炎爆發以來，我們發現有些極端案例與我們以往研究的發炎病例有類似的病徵。我們現在正努力尋找這種疾病的解決方法，而我們的台灣夥伴們正是最重要的推手。我們期盼在抗疫期間與未來，都能與台灣持續合作並相互扶持。」

Anuj Bhardwaj是SecondWave Systems公司執行長，他在台灣生活了三年，他的公司正在研發對抗新冠肺炎的醫療技術。Anuj Bhardwaj是印度裔美國人，在美國賓州出生成長，他擁有麻省理工研究所學位。為了慶祝五月的亞太裔傳統月，我們特別邀請Anuj Bhardwaj接受「愛台灣，我的選擇」系列訪談。

Why I chose Taiwan #10

“I moved to Taiwan in early 2017 as part of a larger family decision. There were multiple factors, but we wanted to give a different experience for our daughters and had heard good things about Taipei, although I had never visited. As I was working to build up a US-based medical device startup, the impact of the decision to my career was not certain. However, in Taiwan I quickly discovered a growing medical device community and a strong professional network in this field. I ended up working closely with a physiologist and entrepreneur, Layla Huang, who connected me to engineering suppliers and consultants who now provide critical services within our company’s value chain. During my time in Taiwan, the work we furthered led to funding from the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) who helped us advance our ultrasound-based technology for neurostimulation therapy. Specifically, the US Department of Defense has interest in therapies to treat inflammation disorders of which the military and veteran population has a high incidence, in addition to large prevalence in the civilian population. This has been our focus for the last few years, however after the onset of COVID-19 we learned that extreme cases induced by this virus cause similar effects as the inflammation disorders associated with our device treatment methods. We are now working to address this problem and our partners in Taiwan have been instrumental in this effort. We look forward to continued collaboration and support in Taiwan during this effort and beyond.”

Anuj Bhardwaj is the CEO of SecondWave Systems. He is an Indian American and has been living in Taipei for the past 3 years and his company is working on technology to help treat COVID-19. Anuj Bhardwaj was born and raised in Pennsylvania and has a post graduate degree from MIT. Anuj’s “Why I Chose Taiwan” interview is also in honor of May Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

ID4星際重生,或叫独立日2:星際重生：ID4：Independence day 2：Resurgence終於要上映了！相隔第一集ID4已經二十年咯
我一看了ID4:星際重生，獨立日2預告片，我就再看回獨立日來回顧一下

以前獨立日：independence day對於那時候的我們究竟有多麼的震撼

雖然那時的電腦技術比不起現在的ID4星際重生

但那個時候是最新的技術。

現在就讓我為介紹ID4星際重生 的故事

這套電影的時間線是跟住以前的故事在跑

那時的ID4是在1996年

那ID4星際重生故事的主角們也是跟住這是時間成長。

以前的物理學家（David Levinson）

在ID4:星際重生也變成ESD地球保衛局的主席

因為上一次的外星人入侵，知道科技懸殊

他用了二十年用外星人的技術去加強太空保衛戰力。

你可以看到很多反重力的配件加到飛機和直升機

上面了。

可惜Will Smith沒有參與這次的ID4星際重生

所以導演一來就賜他死，就說他太空飛機失事

這麼多外星人都打他不下

換來的是他戲裡的兒子。

對！就是以前那個小屁男。

哇！！Angelababy 呢！哎呀～不是Handela baby

啦！！這次她在ID4星際重生飾演中國戰機師加ESD的上校！
這位是。。。。有點臉熟哦～～像不像雷神？他就是

雷神的弟弟，他就好啦，可以和總統的女兒談戀愛

，這個就是以前的小女孩，現在長大了。
我一定要講的就是這一位，他就是以前ID4的總統，再

聽回他以前的致辭，還是那麼的感動和振奮人心。

讓我們來重溫一下他的致辭：

不是美國的獨立日，而是地球的獨立日！好感人的致辭！
這次的ID4星際重生當然是說外星人再一次侵略地球，不過

這次的導演玩很大哦～～有多大？以前是醬油碟，

現在是大盤哦！！哈哈哈。看到這個畫面你就知道

這次的有多大了！
以前我在看獨立日第一集時會覺得有點不滿足，覺

得打得不夠厲害，這次好像是勢均力敵哦～～有好

戲看哦～～
導演還是跟世界各地的建築物有仇咯～～你看，這

個是新加坡的Marina Bay，這個是Dubai塔，飛到倫

敦了？還有我們的雙峰塔得罪你了啊？導演你曾

經被建築師拋棄過啊？
我們都希望這次續集是比第一集更震撼，由於電腦

科技的進步，可能以前第一集的極限，可以在續集

完成，我非常期待這次的ID4星際重生,獨立日2！

I watch the ID4 again after I saw the ID4

Resurgence trailer.
This movie really gave us an impact in that time.
Although the computer graphic is not so advances，
But It was the latest technology in previous time.
Let me brief you how the ID4 2 story.
The time lime of the movie is follow the previously

story.
The first episode was in 1996，So the characters

are growing too.
The physicist David Levinson in the past，Now

become director of the Earth Space Defense，He

knew that earth defense are weeks from last Alien

Invasion
So he was using alien technology on the earth

defense. You can see antigravity engine already

applied on helicopter and jets
Too bad that Will Smith isn’t in this Id4， So the

director ‘killed’ him in space ship accident.
Even Alien can’t kill him ...accident?
So his’ son’ replaced ，Ya, the small kid in previous movie
