Every writer has felt what it’s like to go through the feast and famine cycles.
One month, you may have more work than you can handle, and next to nothing the following month.
It’s not sustainable. It’s not fun. And most freelance writers will continue to live this way until they either burn out or give up.
And to escape the feast and famine cycle, most people will tell you:
❌Deal with it. It’s essential until you build up a more reliable client base.
❌Take on any paying job, no matter how low so eventually you can start charging more
(How many freelance writers do you know have hit their income goals in a timely manner by working like this?)
❌Quit your full-time job so you can put extra hours into freelance writing.
(I see a lot of people end up desperate and on the streets when they do this. Before you quit, I suggest you earn double what you earn at your full-time job)
So why do most freelance writers fall into the feast and famine cycle?
Because most freelance writers are writing the wrong gigs.
They’re writing gigs and jobs that are ‘one and done.’
They write one article for a client, then you never hear from them again.
They proof read someone’s book or edit it, then you never get their business again.
They ghost write an incredible fiction novel only to have to scour low-paying job boards to find the next fiction novel to ghost write for pennies on the dollar.
I used to do the same thing.
I used to write the wrong gigs. And that left me scrambling to find the next client. The next opportunity.
And I see so many great freelance writers online practically working for free because they’re so desperate for stability that they’ll take on any jobs or gigs.
Now, some people may be making a good income writing these ‘one and done’ gigs. And that’s good for them.
But I like to have high paying predictable, recurring, and stable gigs that will always need to be written.
If you’d like to find out how to earn predictable, recurring retainers as a stay-at-home writer with this simple, lucrative type of writing that no one knows about…
I want to send you a free on-demand training where I go in-depth with this and how you can apply it to your life and career right away.
