Answer: My diet is always 60% of healthy, and high in satiety food like lean protein, vegetables, potatoes, while the other 40% is not so healthy food like fried chicken, salad dressing.
At the end of the day, whatever I eat, I consume within the calorie intake my body needs (2500 kcal for me).
I don’t overeat unless it’s on my cheat day which is once a week and it's fine because overall, it’s still in balance.
It’s great to go hardcore on dieting at first, to lose the first 5-10lbs of beginners-weight for extra motivation, but over time you want to balance it out between good food and “bad” food.
Well, “Bad” food is not totally evil. It gives us a variety, and the “spice” of life because we all have different taste buds, we're all human after all. It’s okay to have 1 to 2 cheat meals, just remember to get back on track and come back strong. This is how I maintain sustainable long term results, staying fit all year round!

凱蒂食記:vapiano: 自從上完型男後,這個禮拜對義大利麵一直有莫名的渴望。此時,vapiano正符合喜歡客製化餐點的我。這家餐廳有好幾十種的義大利麵以及pizza、燉飯等料理。喜歡vapiano最令人喜愛的原因就是在這裡可以自己挑選麵種,而且這裡的麵全部都是手工麵條!如果想要吃的豐富一點,這裡還提供加價加料服務!這次我點的是香綠大蝦卷麵。原本這道菜就有兩隻大明蝦,但熱愛海鮮的我又另外加了一份小蝦仁,這樣每一口麵都可以配上一口蝦😁!另外我還點了開胃菜—薄片生牛肉。牛肉處理的真的很好!鮮嫩薄薄的一片 、加上香香的帕瑪森起司以及特條醬,是我每次來的必點!
至於青菜就是沙拉了啊~炎炎的夏日,沒有什麼比沙拉更爽口了!在這裡又要講到我喜歡vapiano的另一個原因了,這裡的調味完全符合我style!清爽又不會太油!而且還有我愛但少見的苦芝麻葉!
雖然看到隔壁的pizza感覺很好吃,很想點,但因為有了生牛肉跟沙拉,兩個人一定吃不完,所以就選了燉飯來試試,結果也不錯呢!米心是正統的偏硬,茄汁調味的也好。雖然看不太清楚但裡面蝦量也給的蠻誠懇的!不錯不錯~期待下次造訪!
Katherine's food diary: vapiano: ever since I had the million dollar abalone pasta on cooking show, I've been suffering under huge crave for nice pasta. In order scratch that itch I paid a visit to one place that I know will not let me down, vapiano. There are plenty of reasons I like about this place, not only do they serve one of my favorite starter, beef carpaccio, they also serve my favorite kind of salad, arugula and most importantly just the right amount of dressing! Other than those two reason, I also find this place perfect for I want my dishes my way. You get to choose your own hand made pasta noodle and they offer various choices of additions, whether it's healthy veggies or seafood or meat! My choice that day was jumbo shrimp pasta. The dish already comes with two jumbo size shrimp, but since I'm a huge seafood fan, I added additional shrimp to the dish that way I have enough shrimp to company every bite of my pasta. Their pizza looked really good but there's no way me and my friend can finish that much so we went with risotto instead. Which was pretty good as well, the tomato sauce was flavorful but not too heavy.

年節已過,這幾天開工,不曉得大家是否一切順利、出外都有做好防疫措施?幸好明天又是週末,可以稍微舒緩一下焦慮的心情。法國這幾天因為冠狀性病毒肺炎陸續出現確診病例的緣故(且五例中有四例在巴黎),也是人心惶惶,許多農曆春節的慶祝活動如在中國城、共和國廣場舉辦的舞龍舞獅遊行等皆悉數取消。巴黎春天百貨 Printemps 原本在昨日也有規劃舞龍舞獅的表演(還有Miss France 的共襄盛舉),也因此一併取消了。不過本週末還是有許多如剪紙、點心試吃、印製個人化托特包的活動等會持續舉行,許多品牌也有合作推廣活動。
我趁此機會拜訪了 Maison Balme,一家已經營了四代的法國松露專門品牌(特別是黑松露),並品嚐了他們的各種松露美食。松露鵝肝、火腿、香腸、乳酪、奶油、松露油、松露鹽等應有盡有(還有松露蛋!),不過這些產品都不脫一般人的認知。那麼 #松露蜂蜜 呢?你聽過嗎?
在我的想像中,松露跟鹹食始終比較搭配,甜點或甜食就有點微妙。我過去一向也是對松露沒什麼特殊感覺的人,有些松露如果因為存放不當,甚至會有瓦斯、氨氣味等。但 Maison Balme 的所有松露產品都只有雋永、細緻的淡淡發酵氣味,而松露蜂蜜更是令我驚豔!大家知道有時在製作或品嚐甜點時,會加入一些鹽來提味,讓甜味在對比之下更加明顯,這裡的松露蜂蜜有異曲同工之妙。雖然松露本身並不是鹹的,但是它 #中性厚實的大地芬芳卻為蜂蜜增加了層次感與底蘊,宛如在風中搖曳的花朵找到了土地依憑,柔和的姿態中帶著堅定,非常迷人。那天下午我在大快朵頤各種松露美食之後,還得到了特製的松露蜂蜜可麗餅,大概很難找到比這更完美的收尾了。
很久以前台灣曾經一度吵過「松露巧克力沒有松露」的議題,但在 Maison Balme,你可以找到 #加了真正黑松露的巧克力!可惜我那天已經吃不下,準備留著下次添購伴手禮時再去,順便一起品嚐看看。另外還有黑松露洋芋片,是不是很夢幻呢?
我之前已經和大家介紹過位於春天百貨男裝部七樓的美食館「Printemps du Goût」,這裡不僅有各種 100% made in France 的道地法國美食、極度適合血拼紀念品,許多食品品牌如這次拜訪的 Maison Balme、巴黎知名咖啡品牌 Lomi 等,都有設座位和吧台,可以坐下來品嚐、並享受絕美的巴黎市中心景致(夏天還開放露台)。剛好在巴黎、或是接下來計畫來巴黎遊覽的朋友,不要忘了來這邊逛逛!

Olive oil, ham, cheese, butter, foie-gras, sausages, pâté en croûte, chocolate…truffles actually add flavour to almost all French gourmet food. But have you ever heard of truffle honey? Oh yes, this rare match does exist and it tastes incredibly good!
I got invited the other day to discover Maison Balme at Printemps du Goût, the gourmet food section of Printemps Haussmann. Having developed for four generations, Maison Balme, a French brand specialising in tuber melanosporum, the so called black truffles or Périgord truffles, is an expert in all kinds of truffle gourmet foods. I wasn’t a fan of truffles and I usually shrink back from the distinctive odour of over-ripened truffles. However, the fresh black truffles and the truffle products that I tasted at Maison Balme that day completely changed my impression. The earthly and musky aroma can be in fact very pleasing, especially when they are infused in oils or paired with right products. I got the chance to taste a bit of everything that day. It was a colourful plate carefully prepared by Benjamin, one of the experts of the shop, that includes truffle ham, sausage, butter, cheese, a salad dressed with truffle oil, as well as truffle honey served as bread dipping or dressing.
Honey and truffles, what an usual but beautiful combination! I was really amazed! For a long time I thought truffles can only go with savoury food, and I’ve never imagined that truffles could actually add depth to the delicate sweetness of honey. After the tasting, Benjamin also made us crêpes dressed with that honey. Ordinary crêpes were transformed to a classy dessert with a simple gesture. I was just wowed.
It was a really delightful experience, plus I love the cozy ambiance and breathtaking view from Printemps du Goût. If you are in town or are planning to visit the city, don’t forget to come over and enjoy a 100% French experience. Collaborating with Printemps du Goût for the celebration of the Lunar New Year, Maison Balme is giving a free truffle chocolate bar to customers who spend more than 75€ at the brand. If you’re not a sweet tooth, the black truffle chips could be as tempting.

Salads are NOT boring or bland! If they are, you're probably not making your salad right. Salads should be light, fresh, easy to digest and make very filling meals.
My salad recipes are packed full of tasty ingredients, different varieties and textures. You can make them the day before and take it with you to work or school. Plus, if you are watching your weight, you will know exactly what you’ve put in it.
The tip to make a balanced, healthy and delicious salad is simple grab a large bowl and combine:
1) One portion of Carbs (1/2 cup)
Pasta, Rice, Couscous, Bulgar wheat, Quinoa, Potatoes, Bread etc
*Leftovers are perfect for this!
2) One portion of Protein (3oz / 85g)
Any meat, chicken, ham slices, chorizo, any fish, can tuna / salmon, eggs, seafood, cheese, any beans, tofu, tempeh etc.
3) Lots of fresh Vegetables & Fruits
As many fruits and vegetables of your choice, serve in abundance.
4) A selection of Herbs or Sprinkles
Fresh herbs such as Mint, Parsley, Basil or Coriander.
Any seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, or flax seeds), Nuts (walnuts, pistachio or almond), Dried Fruits (Raisins, Apricot or Sultanas) or Olives.
**Consume seeds, nuts and dried fruits in moderation as they are high in calories.
5) Light Salad Dressing
Make your own by using a combination of Lemon / Lime / Honey / Olive Oil / Rice Vinegar / Balsamic Vinegar etc.

8 Ingredients:
Kale
Avocado
Capsicum or Tomatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Zucchini
Quinoa
Chicken Tenderloins
Sardines
Recipe 1 - Kale with Chicken
Stir fry the chopped capsicums with some oil, then add the kale, sweet potatoes/or your favourite vegetables. Chop up some avocado and add the chicken tenderoin. You can heat up your chicken tenderloins before serving.
Recipe 2 - Chicken with Sweet potatoes, Quinoa and capsicums
For this recipe. I like to readdress that my quinoa is cooked with some grass fed butter and salt. Sometimes I add herbs, hot sauce, or lemon. I change it up quite a bit. Quinoa is quite tasteless on its own so you'll need to season it!
Recipe 3 - Sardines with Zucchini Noodles
These sardines are cooked with tomato paste. I just add a bit of water to heat it up so its more saucy. Remember to add salt as well!
Recipe 4 - Quinoa Salad Bowl
You can use any proteins you like. Add all your favourite vegetables. Add some lemon juice, or balsamic vinegar, or oil. Make sure you add some sort of dressing! It will be quite plain without any dressings
Recipe 5 - Zucchini Noodles with Chicken.
I personally like to have this with pesto. You can just buy those from the groceries so you don't have to make them if you are a very busy person! If not you can try this avocado dressing.
I have half an avocado, a lemon, olive oil, salt and hot sauce in there. Just process it. You can add some herbs and nuts as well so it's even more tasty!
That's all the recipes. The ingredients are all really easy to prep. Those are my take to prepping my ingredients. You can make teriyaki chicken, or lemon and herb chicken. Change it up so you don't get bored!
