❤️ In these trying times, I’m trying (geddit?) to think positive and celebrate the little achievements. Today, I managed to finish my 4th book of 2020 that is @didierdrogba autobiography. Funnily enough, I was never a big reader as a kid and now I enjoy reading autobiographies and learning about people’s lives and of course football related books and stories (on top of books on philosophy, new age theories and other non-fiction). Drop me your recommendations ❤️

2018 Second Language Research Forum 結束了。
一些這幾天的想法跟有趣的事，我覺得我一定會摻雜很多英文 Oops….. .

1. 昨天的發表很順利，謝謝傳訊息跟留言幫我加油的人！我在Q&A開始之前就說，這是我在這個領域的第一年＋第一次發表，結果發問的人對我非常好，還跟我說Congratulation on your first talk♥️西方對台灣的英文學習環境不是很容易理解，他們對於一堂「英文課」常常可以完全沒有學生output感到不可置信XD 這部分我花了一些時間解釋，好氣又好笑。

2. 以前引用這些學者的研究，就只是在做文獻的時候，把他們的名字照字母順序排列，常常我根本不會念他們的名字。不過這幾天之後，我發現 They are real people!!!!!! 尤其是我這幾天搭地鐵還有買咖啡都一直遇到他們。本來很冰冷的研究結果，變成了有血有肉的人，這個新的realization應該會大大改變我看待文獻的方式。

3. 語言學家聚在一起很愛討論自己的小孩怎麼學新的語言，並且讚嘆小孩神奇的學習能力。他們都極盡所能讓自己的小孩會至少三種語言。有一個學者說他的孩子本來會說韓語（媽媽是韓國人），長大之後就忘光了，讓作為語言學家的他非常挫折，不知道哪裡出錯了XD 我還記得我的一個教授跟我說「為了讓我的孫子天生會說三種語言，我可是佈了二十五年的局」。 .

4. 我很確定我見證了歷史耶。今天的Panel以及Roundtable齊聚了世界上研究Feedback研究的專家。會議的過程中，大家檢討了研究的現況以及未來的展望（充滿了值得做PhD的主題XD），當然也有一些激烈的辯論，看得我冒冷汗。聽著這些文獻回顧裡Big names發表他們還沒問世的研究⋯⋯ 好不真實喔。以前學英文的時候背過一個搭配詞 “cutting edge research” ，今天才懂是什麼意思：真的看見了研究的最前端。

5. 我一直都沒有真的喜歡過Montreal. I’ve always felt really misplaced. 但是今天當我在學術Hollywood的現場，我想Things happen for a reason：這場會議今年可能在世界的任何地方發生，結果竟然在我念碩士的這一年，發生在我念碩士的城市，離家十五分鐘。～啊好幸運。
