It has been a long year. But because of our collective efforts against COVID-19, we are ready to enter Phase 3 on 28 December. This is only possible because everyone has made so many sacrifices, to bring our situation under control.
We will be providing free, voluntary vaccinations for all Singaporeans and long-term residents. We have approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for pandemic use, and the first batch will arrive this month. We also have other vaccines on order, and by 3Q2021 should have enough to vaccinate everyone.
I encourage you to get vaccinated, to protect not just yourself but also those around you.
The announcement of Phase 3 will bring some year-end cheer to us all, but please stay vigilant as the virus is not yet eradicated. It might be a year or more before we are in the clear, but at least we can see light at the end of the tunnel. – LHL

Commonly used abbreviations - Bạn có biết 5 từ mình dùng mỗi ngày là viết tắt của gì hem?
1. ATM
Automated Teller Machine: máy rút tiền tự động. Ngày trước, mình toàn đọc “ATM machine”, cái này không đúng vì trong ATM, từ M chính là machine rùi.
2. AM/PM
am = ante meridiem (từ Latin có nghĩa là “before midday", trước trưa)
pm = post meridiem (từ Latin có nghĩa là “after midday", sau trưa)
Vậy 12h trưa dùng 12am hay 12pm? Theo bộ từ điển American Heritage Dictionary, 12am chỉ ban đêm, còn 12pm chỉ ban trưa. Nhưng để tránh nhầm lẫn cũng như do có những thảo luận khác nhau, thì mình có thể dùng cách thay thế hay hơn là 12 noon (trưa) và 12 midnight (đêm).
3. IQ/EQ
IQ = Intelligent Quotient (chỉ số thông minh não bộ con người)
EQ = Emotional Quotient (trí thông minh cảm xúc)
4. Mạng 4G, LTE
4G = fourth generation (công nghệ truyền thông không dây (đời) thứ tư)
LTE = Long Term Evolution (Tiến hóa dài hạn) - để giúp người dùng hiểu rằng đây chưa phải là một công nghệ chuẩn 4G, thay vào đó chỉ là một chuẩn tiệm cận công nghệ mạng thứ tư, và sẽ còn phát triển nữa.
5. SMS
SMS = Short Message Service (dịch vụ tin nhắn ngắn) mà chúng mình nhắn tin mỗi ngày.
