An early Christmas dinner for just the three of us. It was nothing special and just a little dinner but it was a huge deal for me on this evening. An anniversary to celebrate one year of extreme resilience, strength and growth. Holding on to hope paid off. Truly it did. I had this tiny little spark of hope but I held on to it and it lead me out of miles of darkness. Never underestimate what the tiniest of hope can do and definitely never underestimate yourself. I woke up so liberated, strong, happy and at peace today. The kids LOVED last night. I got them little gifts that they could open after dinner but nothing compares to the excitement of crackers. Those who have known me for a while know that black was never my colour. Ever. Instead, I would wear soft greys, white and pastels. Lately, I gravitate towards black. I love how it makes me feel. I jokingly call it the bad bitch look with my SnapBack caps and trainers but really it’s probably me embracing my unapologetic self and using this new style symbolically. 10 days left of being 33. In a lot of ways, year 2020 represents what being 33 was like for me. So many hopes and dreams and yet life ended up being so drastically different and not necessarily for the worst. I really did get 20 20 vision this year. I can see things so so clearly. I know exactly what and who to put my time, attention and love to. I know what truly matters in the end. As I approach 34, I hope to continue to live grateful and be as present as ever. 33 started off crap but ended being a great year because it taught me so much strength and resilience. Just because you didn’t have a great start doesn’t mean you can’t have a great finish. I may not be where I want to be yet but I am no longer where I used to be. NEW HAIR. WHO THIS? Feeling fresh with the shorter hair. Why did I worry so much? Should've done it earlier. Also, when you are stressing out about whether to cut your hair or not, then you know life must be going well for you hehe..

I really hope one day going to the kid's grandparent's house will feel normal again. Right now is still too raw. I will be patient with myself and know time will do it's healing.
