Today we took 2 young ems, (little sisters in Viet), who had been rescued from human trafficking, to be back home with their families in #Sapa #Vietnam. 👪🙏🙌 It was an unforgettable day as they took us through their homes and showed us their siblings, parents, and pet pigs...! (Omg one pig RAN after me...I'm gonna chill on bacon for a while 😢😭) One of the ems let me put on her beautiful #Hmong attire that was hand stitched by her sister! On my recent trip to Sapa, Vietnam I met 24 yr old Phuong. She was sold by her mother and kept as a trafficked prisoner for years before she managed to escape and return home to her father, brother, and sisters. Even though her mother has been arrested and is now doing time, Phuong is the only one who pays her visits and continues to pray for her mother. She told me she will never understand why her mother did what she did, but with all she's been thru she'd rather have a mother than to not have one at all. When I visited Phuong at home with her family, I had to play dress up with Phuong's hand made customary #Hmong wear. This is a 3 piece knit with hand sewn embroidery & hand painted beads.
