Over the course of his 40-year career, Lam has continued to contribute his talents to the HK music industry by creating and singing countless classic hits. He was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" at the 38th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Award Show on January 6th, 2016. The award was presented by Sally Yeh. 林子祥入行40年, 貢獻其天賦才華，締造無數經典金曲, 在1月6日晚香港電台《第38屆十大中文金曲頒獎音樂會》獲頒「名人堂」榮譽，由葉蒨文（沙麗）頒獎。林子祥發表得獎感言: 「最有感受最開心嘅係，我唔單止唱俾你哋聽，仲唱埋俾你仔女，甚至孫女聽，感覺係好好。多謝十大中文金曲，支持我同沙麗咁多年，好多謝咁多位填詞人，佢哋都係我老師，仲有好多朋友……感謝上天俾我仲有氣力唱畸型歌，而且仲有人聽。祝大家，包括沙麗，身體健康。」「名人堂」榮譽於去年首設，旨在表揚歌手對本地樂壇的貢獻及成就；進入「名人堂」的歌手必須對推動整個香港中文樂壇發展有不可磨滅的影響。
