Today is 1 Dec and the festive season is in full swing. Orchard Road and the malls are all beautifully decorated and lit up.
Today also marks #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. Singapore has taken part for two years now, but this year the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre - NVPC has extended it to a nation-wide #GivingWeek from 1 to 7 Dec.
Glad to see Singaporeans supporting this movement, which encourages giving back to the community whether by volunteering, donating or simply performing a kind act. SG50 is not just about celebrations. It is also a year of introspection as we discover anew what being Singaporean means. Movements like this will help us make Singapore a more caring home for all.
