DASH CAN WALK!!!

Yay!!!!! Milestone achieved!

So Dash has been practicing walking! He is able to take a few steps since a few weeks ago but he would always fall down afterwards, usually flat on the face. (On playpen mattress luckily, not the floor)

But I think he finally got it since a few days ago!

Dash is 10 months and 13 days when he started walking. Yay this means he can walk into his own birthday party!

By popular request, finally a video of Dash eating lemon!! I always thought it was cruel to let him eat some so I waited until he is 6 and a half months for this but I needn't have worried, he actually likes it!! He grabbed his daddy's hand to eat more of the lemon lol

Dash walking part 2!!! The "Uh oh!" version!!!

One day I just said to Mike in front of Dash "Uh oh he found the remote", referring to Dash who was about to grab the remote control off the table...

To my surprise Dash picked it up and said uh oh too! After that he kept saying it when he falls down or is in precarious situations, it's so cute!!

And the hand twirling.

This might just be the cutest thing EVER.


Usually I try to edit Dash's videos into 15 secs clips to upload to instagram (@xiaxue) but I love this whole clip so yay! My first youtube video in a zillion years!

Dash threw his toy on the floor while in his high chair and he knows he is not supposed to do that.

So I told him "Mama angry!" - which got cut away in the front part of the video - and gave him an angry huffy face.

Dash is only 1 year and 4 months old but somehow, he knows that when I give him the angry face he should try to make me smile.

So while I tried my best to not break into laughter, he kept saying "Mama shoo", which is somehow Sorry mispronounced, although usually he can pronounce sorry very well.

And of course the usual puppy eyes, done just right with some averting and slight cheeky smiles.


In the middle of the clip you can see him lifting up his shirt. He knows that if he performs "wash the belly", which is him rubbing his belly with his hands I will always squeal and say "SO CUTE!" and smile.

Ditto for the smacking of the lips because I love it when he does his "mian bao lian" aka "burger face", the biting of the lower lips to puff out the cheeks.

I really don't know how he became such a master manipulator but I lost terribly, smiling at him towards the end. You can see him smirking because he knew he won.

Fine, THROW ALL THE TOYS ON THE FLOOR!!

These are all the answers Dash came out with by himself! With the exception of the animal noises which are taught by me or songs, he wasn't taught the answers to the questions at all. They are actually his real answers after thinking about it. I even try to trick him by saying animals which don't make noises, but he still managed to come out with answers. (Bear - There is a song that is about a teddy bear saying good night. Crocodile - the crocodile in Gingerbread Man says "I'm gonna get you.") When asked what Anna (Frozen) says, he knocked on the door and said "Elsa?" like the start of "Do you wanna build a snowman", but the phone hung so I didn't get to record that.


For some reason he seems to think I say "Oh my god" all the time, hahaha! Which I do I guess! LOL!

And he always tells himself "No need to cry" after crying for something he can't get. It's the most adorable brave little face ever, comforting himself with his tear filled eyes.

"This is my favourite part of the day! ?

After Dash's second nap, I will wake him up gently and carry him from his bed to the couch. He will usually whine a little because he is still sleepy (but have to wake up if not at night can't sleep), then I'll let him lie on my chest while I sing him songs.

He will lie still with his eyes half open, listening. If I sing a song he likes, he will smile to himself happily.

Nowadays, I will ask him "Mama sing, what song do you want?" And he will answer me with a song he likes!

Sometimes he sings with me and he would occasionally lift his head up to smile at me, the most sincere smile that crinkles his eyes and makes my heart surrender.

This vulnerable and cuddly side of him lasts all of 15 mins and afterwards he is running around independently like usual. But just for that 15 mins, he is my little newborn baby again."

After the post, people asked me for a video of this, so I tried to take a video!

Dash's favourite song that day consists of me singing cockadoodledoodledoodledo over and over again so I apologize for the annoying and slightly deranged voice.

Hehehe at 0:59 he pokes his fatty cheek.
