เราอาจจะเคยได้ยินคำว่าสวนเพื่อคนเมืองมาก่อน แต่กับอุทยาน 100 ปี จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยแห่งนี้ ผมว่านี่คือสวนเพื่อคนเมืองจริงๆ !
เพราะสวนแห่งนี้ไม่ได้ตอบแค่เรื่องการพักผ่อนหรือการออกกำลังกายแค่นั้น แต่ยังช่วยแก้ปัญหาที่ใหญ่กว่านั่นคือเรื่องของปัญหาน้ำท่วมในเมืองรวมถึงสภาวะอากาศแปรปรวน (Climate change) ที่เกิดขึ้นในโลกเรา
สวนแห่งนี้เปรียบเสมือนแก้มลิงที่ช่วยกักเก็บน้ำก่อนที่จะระบายออกสู่พื้นที่สาธารณะ สามารถช่วยปัญหาน้ำท่วมได้อย่างแท้จริง ถึงแม้สวนสวนเดียวคงไม่ได้ช่วยให้กรุงเทพฯ รอดจากน้ำท่วม แต่ลองคิดดูว่าถ้าสวนหรือพื้นที่ขนาดใหญ่ในเมืองทุกที่ช่วยกันสร้างแก้มลิงของตัวเองเพื่อกักเก็บน้ำไว้ได้จะเป็นเรื่องดีขนาดไหน
นี่คือหนึ่งในงานออกแบบที่ทำให้เราเห็นว่าการออกแบบที่ดีคืออะไร และมันช่วยแก้ปัญหารวมถึงทำให้ผู้คนมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้นได้อย่างไรบ้าง ฝากติดตามเรื่องราวของพี่กชและบริษัท Landprocess ด้วยนะครับ อยากให้คนได้ฟังเรื่องราวดีๆ แบบนี้เยอะๆ
