2002年,我拍了人生中第一個廣告。我放棄醫學院,決定當模特兒,結果我馬上爆紅,我爸爸媽媽很為我驕傲,哈哈!開玩笑的啦!故事其實不是這樣的。我放棄醫學院搬來台灣可能是我做過最瘋狂的事之一。當醫生一直以來都是我很有興趣的工作,這不只是一個父母希望我做的職業而已。我全身心地投入上課、實習、學習我未來要做的無國界醫生的工作。
2002: I got my first commercial. I gave up medical school to become a model. I become an overnight success and my parents were so proud of me. NOT! Quitting medical school to move to Taiwan was probably one of the craziest and riskiest things I’ve done in my life. Medicine was always something I personally loved, and not just a professional my parents pushed me towards. I put my heart and soul into getting into medical school and I wanted to travel the world with Medicine San Frontiers.
但是,拍完廣告之後,我很想很想嘗試這個新的”模特兒”工作,不知道為什麼,因為是新的嗎?還是我想要挑戰自己呢?或是想要多待在亞洲旅遊呢?
But I had this nagging itch to try out this whole modeling thing - don’t know what it was. The excitement of something new? The challenge of a different industry altogether? The desire to travel in Asia a bit longer?
最後,我決定放棄醫學院,因為我覺得像這種比較穩定的行業如果我想回去的話都還會在。但”模特兒”這個比較不穩定、特別,而且比較適合年輕時候試試看的行業,如果要做就要趁現在。
Finally, I decided, a career in medicine will still be there in a few years if I wanted it. But this opportunity to try modeling was probably something I should do younger rather than older.
所以,我全心全意跳進去!寄我的”拒絕信”給醫學院(哈哈哈哈哈哈!我的天啊!好難得是我可以”拒絕”,而不是”被拒絕”)。我搬來台灣,開始我的模特兒挑戰之路。我不能說是模特兒事業啦,因為老實說,其實不是那麼順利,也沒有固定的薪水或是工作機會。我為了生活也同時接了很多其他的兼差,像是教英文、當保母、加入小提琴團隊,也繼續在救護團隊工作。

So, i took a leap of faith and sent in my rejection letter (Haha. take THAT medical school. I reject YOU!) and started doing various TV commercials and print ads in Taiwan. I wish I could have said it was a lucrative or even successful career as a model, but honestly, there were more days in between than actual jobs. I had to support myself with a lot of side jobs: teaching English, baby sitting, joining violin performing groups, continuing my work as an EMT, etc. Anyway, here’s just a few of the very VERY varied looks I had back then. Hi my lovelies, please READ this box for more info in regards to some questions you might have. How I get a flat belly effectively with these simple workouts in under 5 minutes. These moves are suitable for beginners and I will be showing and explaining to you step by step to master the moves. If you are busy, then this is good as it takes less than 5 minutes.
1) How often should I do this workout?
Do 15-20 repetitions and 3-4sets for each exercise, 3-4 times weekly on alternate days. If you are a beginner, start slow and increase the reps and sets as you progress.
2) Should I only do this workout?
For best result, combine it with consistent total body workouts (3-4 times weekly) and have a healthy, clean, balanced diet (that's a huge part to getting a flat belly). You can refer to my other workout videos for an effective total body workouts. If you are a beginner, try my "Beginner Fat Burning" workout video with this. =)

3) When will I start to see the difference (or get a flat belly)?
For this workout and any other workouts in general, you should feel and see the difference in 4-6 weeks. This varies individually depending on how much body fat you have to lose, the safe and sustainable weight loss ratio is 1-2lbs per week. Again, combine this workout with total body workouts to burn off the excess fat.
4) Can I do this workout more frequently for quicker results?
Doing this workout more frequently doesn't equal quicker result, it's a combination of total body workouts to burn the excess fat off and a good clean diet. Allowing your muscles to rest and recover is as important too - hence do it on alternate days.
5) I feel the strain on my lower back instead of abs and my lower back is arching. Am I doing it wrong?
If you are new to this workout, It's comment to arch our back because our ab muscles are not as strong yet. Slow down the pace and focus on getting the right technique initially.
So only bring your legs down as low as you can without arching your back. It's alright if it's only half way through because it's more important that we don't feel the strain on our lower back, and focus on working the abs muscles. You can also support your lower back by placing your hand directly under your lower back. As your abs get stronger, you will find that you will be able to bring your legs down even more.
6) I want to get a flat belly in 1 week or 2 weeks. What can I do?
It's important to set yourself a realistic goal. We do not put on weight / belly fat overnight, hence it will take time for us to lose the weight too. The sooner you stop looking for shortcuts, instead trust yourself and your hard work, the sooner you will see results. Start by cleaning up your food; so no junks, fried food, soda drink and reduce the amount you eat. If you consume less than your body burns, that's when you lose weight. And of course combine it with total body workouts 5-6 days a week for quick and best result.

Hello my little rays of sunshine!
It's been a while since we did a tag video. I like doing tags because they are always so much fun and we all get to be all goofy in it. I think our last tag was the Boyfriend Does My Makeup tag and boy, that one was erm ...a success? Cough!
You guys have been requesting this one and it's the 'No Mirror Makeup Challenge' tag. Some of you just want to watch the World burn eh? I actually watched a few of these videos before doing the tag and they were actually pretty funny. Thank you to everybody who tagged me.
I don't know, I think I did ...ok? Well...minus the eyeliner that is (and everything else).
I have to say, when I was editing this video - I was amazed (and also horrified) with my facial expressions. So THIS is how I look applying makeup without a mirror. We learn something new everyday.
Thank you Tim for making sure the camera was running smoothly. His presence makes me all giggly and whiney. Oh, I apologise about looking super tired in this video. I haven't been getting much sleep. Since I got back from LA, Friends and relatives keep telling me how tired I look wherever I go =_=
