在印尼，除了名闻遐迩的峇厘岛，它还有许多风光明媚，却又鲜为人知的海滩岛屿，而勿里洞岛（Belitung）就是其中之一。
勿里洞岛面积约为4千800平方公里，相等于6个新加坡，岛上拥有5个市镇，即Tanjung Pandan、Kelapa Kampit、Manggar、Gantung及Damar，而Tanjung Pandan是其首府。
这里有许多海滩及小岛屿，海滩拥有碧海蓝天、洁白沙滩、奇岩异礁及婆娑椰树，其中最著名的景点为Pantai Tanjung Tinggi、Pantai Tanjung Kelayang、Pulau Lengkuas、Pulau Kepayang等，这些景观都是潜水、嬉水、赏海及航海的理想之处。
