ตาเชื้อได้เปิดเป็นร้านขายทองตั้งแต่สมัยนั้นจนถึงสมัยนี้ชื่อร้านทองชื่อว่า "ร้านทองสมสมัย" ขายอยู่ที่อำเภอศรีสัชนาลัย จังหวัดสุโขทัย จนถึงปัจจุบันนี้ร้านนี้ก็ยังมีขายอยู่ และเปิดให้นักท่องเที่ยวเข้าชมวิธีการทำทองด้วย ทองสุโขทัยจะใช้วิธีการแต่งทองตามลาย แล้วนำไปเชื่อมติดกับแม่แบบอีกที ผิดกับทองสมัยใหม่ที่จะแกะเนื้อทองไปเลย
สำหรับเครื่องเงินสุโขทัยหรือเงินโบราณสุโขทัยนั้น เกิดจากร้านลำตัด ซึ่งเป็นชื่อของคุณลุงลำตัด เห็นว่ามีแต่ทองโบราณไม่มีเงินโบราณ เลยริเริ่มเอาลายทองโบราณมาทำเป็นลายเงิน เรียกว่าลายเงินโบราณสุโขทัย ร้านของลุงลำตัดเป็นร้านเปิดมานานหลายสิบปี มีการแสดงการทำเครื่องเงินให้ชมด้วยครับ
